About
Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton is Arnold Palmer's only public course in the area. It is conveniently located just a few minutes west of the bridge leaving Hilton Head Island. Opened in 2000, the course has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the Lowcountry's best. Sprawling across a lush landscape blanketed with century-old oaks and towering pines, the layout is as scenic as it is challenging. While the generous fairways may be player friendly, the difficult approaches to the elevated, well bunkered greens are anything but. The large, pristine white sand bunkers were designed in true Palmer-style, closely following the natural undulations of the land. The gently rolling terrain is unique for the area. Crescent Pointe Golf Club's elevation changes aren't dramatic but they do provide some subtle, but tricky undulations in the greens that make it hard to find a flat lie.

The course was extremely wet, so cart paths only, even though, it hadn’t rained in days. Slow play and no Marshall in sight. Good layout, but bad access to fairways when cart path only, because of massive cart path mounds on several opening holes. Pretty sure I will not be back.

Sand traps and cart paths
Layout, fairways, greens, pro shop staff excellent.
The sand traps and cart paths are either designed, maintained, or constructed significantly below the standards set by the course design, fairways and greens.

Will definitely play here again
The course was in excellent condition. Fairways and greens were true. Really like the layout and options to be aggressive or play conservative with several shots. Cart paths are very rough and need some work. Staff in the pro shop was very welcoming.

Disappointing
Crescent Springs has been a “must play” on my annual trip to Hilton Head for 10 years. It is a gorgeous course and in pretty good shape overall- especially with considering the recent rain. The last two holes are absolutely gorgeous - the prettiest in the area in my opinion.
However, management must have changed hands. Aside from the cart guy and some of the grounds crew, the staff was less than friendly. For example, the starter got upset when I showed up 1/2 hour early for my tee time and sent me off to the putting green. He then chastised me for being late when he sent off the threesome I was supposed to be paired with six minutes early. No worries- I got paired up w three great guys and had a great round . Also, they are letting the little things slip - grass in the sand traps, etc.
In short, it is a beautiful course at a fair price. but until the atmosphere changes it will not be on my must play list anymore.

Something New
First time playing this course. My partner and I are average golfer that play once a week. Found the course to be challenging but we wanted to try a new course. Lot's of water to keep it interesting. Greens were in excellent shape; tees were in poor shape and cart paths were in awful shape. Made the trip around really uncomfortable. Regardless I would be willing to try another round at this course in the hopes that it would be in better condition.

Incredible front 9
This course will test all elements of your game, and force you to play more creatively. The key is to select the right tees, distance in the low country is challenging to measure and the length off the back tees will make some holes (par 3 9th) borderline unfair. If you can get the distance correct on your approach and your ball straight off the tee, you’re sure to do well here, I still had fun anyway. For golfers looking off island, Crescent Point is a fantastic option. Also, the complaints about the cart path are extremely relevant, so strap in your clubs and don’t take it too fast.

Great lay out
Greens were true and in great shape. Seemed slow which was a plus for me.
Fairways good. Several areas needed attention such as the traps but not a buzz killer.

Course has great potential
Course has a great layout and lots of potential but the course is very “tired” and needs TLC - cart paths are very very bumpy, almost hurts your back with all the bouncing due to missing slabs of concrete. Bunkers throughout the course were not groomed and the greens could have used a cut. One good thing is we were able complete our round in less than 4 hrs. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We paid around $75 for a round and would have expected more for the price.
