Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers four 18-hole, championship courses designed by three renowned architects. Raven Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., was carefully carved through marshes, native wetlands, and towering pine forests. Jones created a layout that is hailed for being both modern and traditional. It is also notable for how it seamlessly flows into the surrounding nature. The golf course offers plenty of variety both in shot options and visual scenery. The diverse holes are accented by dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the landscape. Water comes into play frequently and there are a number of strategically placed sand traps. Golfers are presented with a myriad of different ways to play each hole, which means thoughtful strategy is a necessity. The golf course's large, undulating greens also make proper club selection essential.

Great Course, Rude Staff

The Raven is a great golf course. We payed the Twilight rate and for the $$, the value was good. Upon arrival, the cart guys were very welcoming. On the other hand when we went to check in and pay, the pro shop attendant was a complete jerk. When it was our time time to tee off, we checked in with the starter. She was a very nice lady and helpful. My recommendation is they should have had an on course marshal monitoring the pace of play. It took us ( a twosome) 2 1/2 hours to play the front nine. Great course but be prepared to be treated like an idiot when checking in to pay. It will be a while before I return.

Course was very tough and greens fast. Shots required thought and evaluation before committing. Long, accurate drives were a must and if you're off, it will be a long day. We went through a few balls and we played better than the score showed but it was a fun and demanding 18 holes. Layout was very fair and if we tried to get too risky we paid the price!! Greens were fair and fast. Course was in excellant shape. Hope to play again with better outcome.
