Nice challenge
Nice layout challenging holes along the way staff friendly grounds keepers working hard to keep fairways and greens in good condition fair value for the $$$.
Excellent layout, great value for the money, course ok
We played Palisades for the first time and the layout of the Golf Course is AAA. Offers everything a golfers dreams off. Up and down, doglegs, water holes, half green islands. A real pleasure do see a great golf course design.
Speed of play was a little bit too slow. Front nine was fantastic and moved along, but then we were hold up from 10 (hitting Par 5 Green with an 5 iron in 2 from the tips) to 15 by a 4some that 2 of them couldn't really play Golf and they played a scramble. They should have let us through immediately and all would have been fine, instead we had to force ourselves through on a water hole, hitting past them and moving on.
Course was in ok shape. Playable but with a lot of bare spots, weeds, rough but still rolling Greens. For the $25 we played in January, their is really nothing to say about the condition. Can't expect 5 star quality when you pay 3 star.
Overall, a must play Golf Course, you will not be disappointed unless you expect a manicured Golf Course.
This is one of the best layouts I have every played and even from the tips challenging and for sure not boring at all.
We will for sure be back during the summer when we spend a lot of time around Orlando.
Thumps up! And if you can get the Greens just a 2-3 more on the stimpmeter and fix a couple bad spots (don't care much about tee boxes) then you deserve a 5 Star!
Don't bother
I Love The course at Palisades, but this was arguably one of my worst golf experiences ever, After 4.5 hours and still waiting to tee off on 14th hole, we finally left. The conditions were terrible for this time of year in Florida, The pace was unbearable and there was no Ranger to police the WAY TOO MANY people they had packed onto the course, The staff was verry pleasant, but that can't make up for what else transpired.
more changes are taking place
They have started to clear out along the fairway border and open a clear view at 16th tee box like it. For the $25 early bird it a great value, green was a bit trick had blame it the rain we've the past few days.
Great course and good value
Course has much improved over last three years and is in good shape. Some lovely holes and all different, 3rd, 11th and 16th holes are especially.
Great lay out
A Joe Lee design, that is well worth the time, cost to play. Course has come a long way in the past 3-4 years. It was once one of the best in the area, and appears Mgt. is attempting to bring the course back to the quality in the past. Just a great venue, starter is always friendly, helpful, and just a great guy. Cart lady, likewise, does a good job. Pleasant to play and cost via Golfnow is great.
Most Bang For Your Buck!
Played Palisades 2/2/14, the course was plush green and in excellent shape, especially for the price. The greens were a bit hairy but given all the recent cold and rain, it was understandable. Overall an awesome track, not too hard but it had its quirks. I will definitely be teeing it up there again soon.
Palisades Belongs On Your Must Play List
This course matches well against ANY Orlando area golf course. A few years ago it had fallen on tough economic times and the conditions had become almost "unplayable". BUT...Palisades has made a terrific comeback!! It is clear that the new management is committed to making the course first rate. Starting with the extremely player friendly staff..a brand new fleet of carts and MAJOR improvement of course conditions. The greens had excellent color and played fine. One thing that really got my attention was the work being done on the perimeters. What had been shabby conditions around the lakes and "off fairway" spots has been much improved to get the course back to the beautiful look that it used to have. Simply put...you will not find a better value in this market today...bang for the buck...than Palisades !! As an added bonus, my group watched a gorgeous red fox take a stroll across the 6th fairway !!
Bad day all day
Last time we play this course. Bad day, all day long!
Great course
This is a great course that just needs a little bit more time. The new people running it now have done a lot of hard work to bring it back to it's former glory. If they keep up the current rate of work this will be one of the best in the area to play. The lay out is brilliant, the greens just need some more TLC.
Much better shape then 2 years ago
Had a very bad experience 2 years ago but after reading that there where renovations made we decided to try it again. Was surprise by the conditions of the course. All green except one were very good. My only critic is that some holes are unfair like the number 2 par 3 there is a dead tree right in front of the green from the women tees. Course is very demanding.
Not on our favorite list
Course is a bit too challenging for our liking. Greens were in rough shape.
Great value... Course making a comeback...
The course recently reopened and because of this the tee times are very reasonable. I played for $25 in January. The course is being well-maintained and is challenging. If you are a 20+ male handicapper like me, play from the gold tees to save yourself a headache. Play SMART on hole 11... it can ruin your round if you get cocky!
challenging
very difficult for the first time but should play with someone that knows the course
Nice course, good value
I played this course 5 years ago and just returned for the first time. The course is in decent shape, the greens are ok. There are many challenging holes on the course. Good value for $ 25 with a cart.
The bar/restaurant is not owned by the same group. We were disappointed in the friendliness of the bar/restaurant staff. The golf staff was fine.
So...So.. Experience Here !
2nd time to play here and both times experienced the same situation; overbooked tee times and jammed up at first tee. They even squeezed in a group of members amongst the chaos ! Disapointing in that regard. Greens were lousy compared to other courses I've played this month, and the overall condition was iffy. However , on the plus side, the setting is nice along Lake Minneola, and the course itself has some real good holes; Not sure if I would play here again though......
Challenging Course
First time I've ever played this course and I was not disappointed. The course was in great shape and was certainly a challenge. I thought the one par five was unfair because a huge oak tree made it almost impossible to reach the green with your third shot. Other than that I really enjoyed my round. Would highly recommend this course.
Great layout but needs work
It hurts to see such a great golf course in the contitions it is right now. I had a long talk to the starter (extremle friendly) and he said they are working on it. I hope they can manage to get the course in the conditions it deserves. The layout of the course ist just fantastic.
Loved it
Took my son and we had a great time. The course was very well maintained. I plan on playing there again
