hidden in te slopes
The course is in good shape, some of the tees and in particular the 17th green needs a lot of attention.
Long and wide par 5's and a couple of short par 4's.
Very nice views of lake Mineola and the hydroplanes above the course.
Legends, sanctuary and Palisades best value for the money.
The restaurant has great Italian food and is very cheap.
The ranger waits for you by your car to give you a cart, you cant beat that.....
Fairways, or unfairways?
Palisades is a reasonably priced, challenging and well designed golf course, but in some places, over designed. Although it has elevation changes, lake views and an interesting layout, several holes are simply unfair. I am a 12 handicap and wonder how most golfers, who have higher handicaps, can even play some of Palisades' holes. My playing partner, a 5 handicap, had nothing but trouble too with some of the holes. Long approach shots over formidable water hazards to small greens do not even confront pros on U.S. Open courses. Some tee boxes are poorly placed distance wise and give very difficult approach shots. A few simple changes would make Palisades much more playable instead of the futile obstacle it is now.
We always like the challenge in the course.
We found the greens to be patchy in spots although the ball rolled true and didn't bounce or veer. There is also a 'bunker' near one of the greens on the back nine that has no sand in it and the grass is not trimmed around the edges. One of our players had a ball roll off the green into the untrimmed grass and three putted. It was the deciding factor in the match play and he was not happy.
Nice course
Greens and fairway pretty good. Tee boxes need some work, but not bad all in all pretty good value.
Course is good
This course is pretty good, it has a few holes that need care but overall I would say it is a good course. I played this course several times and I would go back however, the pricing that they have now is a little to high considering there are other courses in the area that is in better condition and cheaper. As a Florida resident all you need to do is go on some of these community golf course and get a better deal.
Looking forward to playing again
It was a good course I enjoyed playing it it was one of those fun courses to play. Yes there were some tricky holes. The course dose need to have some atten to it. I was told it had gone though a tough time as I have found with other courses. You do need to watch out for the fire ants in some places. A final note when I go to visit my family up there that would be the first course I would play.
A couple of tough holes to get through!
The course if in pretty good shape and has improved a fair amount since the last time I played there. They are still having problems with fire ant colonies so you need to watch your step. If you are a novice or are unable to place shots, there are a couple of holes that will drive you crazy. (#11 most notably.)
I enjoyed the round and will return even though I count myself in the ranks of novices and those who can't place shots well.
the greens slower than they looks
greens needs mowing and rooling hard to finds yardge marker lay out very good the sarter very pleasnt&accomdating the course could be injoyable in season
Course needs work.
Played here a couple of years ago and course needed better maintenance. I heard a new owner or management team was running the course. Better condition but still needs attention.
Some greens are almost unplayable and a couple of holes are poorly designed. Worth the lower summer price but no more.
Cheap as chips
Great for a practice round couldn't get a bag of range balls in most places let alone a round of golf.
Course needs better maintenance, greens never recovered from aeration
Only paid $10, hard to complain however course lacked proper maintenance
great layup
The greens need two more weeks to be in great shape, but is a good course and challenging, I liked
great improvement from the last time i played there.....which was 2 years ago...the course always had a great layout but was not receiving proper main
Great improvement from the last time i played there....which was over 2 years ago......the course always had a great layout but was not receiving the proper maintenance.....this was a pleasant surprise
The course has some challenging feature
We had a great time on the course, it is very well kept and the greens are very well kept. we will defifinitely play there again.
Great views
Great course for all skill levels. Lots of terrain changes. Course is in very good shape and greens putt great. As they say JUST HAVE FUN!!!!
good course
There was no mention of the greens being punched and sanded. If I had know this prior to booking, I would have played somewhere else. Also, the green fee paid was too high for punched greens.
Beautifull, excellent prices
It was fun, challenging sometimes, courteous personel, best hole in terms of contact with nature are 10 to 18
A challenging course!
My brother and I played this course for the first time on April 12, 2013 and we're kicking ourselves for not playing there sooner. The course is very challenging, from any tee box and you need to know where to place your shots. This being our first time we found ourselves in trouble on several occasions. It doesn't appear that they put a lot of money into maintaining the course. What money they do spend is where it needs to be. The fairways are excellent. The tee boxes are in good shape. The greens were very playable and undulating, although there were a few thin areas here and there as well as many ball marks. The rough however is a different matter. There were more weeds than Bermuda (I'm not exaggerating) and it wouldn't hurt to send a rough mower out. If you do decide to play here, as my brother and I plan to do so again soon, do yourself two favors... 1. Google an aerial view of the course and get an idea of how each hole looks and where to hit your shots. 2. Keep it in the short grass. ;)
