Green Valley Country Club
About
Green Valley Country Club in Clermont sprawls across rolling hills that were once used for citrus farming. The unusually undulating terrain allows for scenic vistas all around, including a panoramic view of Lake Minneola from the sixth fairway. The golf course boasts some of the highest elevations in Lake County and the routing of the layout does much to take advantage of the sloping terrain. Throughout the golf course you'll find linear fairways and large rolling greens that call for heroic carries. Water hazards come into play on a few holes but in order to let the natural contours shine, bunkering was kept to a minimum. You'll only find it along the front and sides of the greens. Green Valley Country Club's seventh is one of the toughest holes, with an intimidating peninsula green that requires an epic drive in order to reach it in regulation.

Better than I expected, and a fun but challenging layout
3 years ago, when we were moving to Florida I looked at a house in the community surrounding this course. At that time, the golf course was in rough shape, and I thought it might go under in a year or so, so...I opted not to buy the house. The course looks good now, and I regret that decision!
The layout is interesting, and has some blind shots and severe doglegs...but for the most part , the course favors a fade, which is what most amateurs work with. Good strategic bunkering limits the ability to roll approach shots on.
Pro shop folks were very helpful. Rushing me out to the first tee ahead of a foursome playing with 3 sets of rental clubs on Thanksgiving morning. Which kept the pace of the round nice. Finished (as a single) having played through two groups of two that weren't interested in pairing up, in just at three hours (and spent the last 45 minutes behind the foursome, who had either gotten lost or jumped to the end to make it to dinner).
Didn't get a chance to visit the grill since it was closed, but the location looks like a great place for a beer and a snack beside the lake at the center of the course. It's a long drive (about an hour), but I will definitely play here again!
First 3 holes aren’t the greatest, but every home after was great. A couple greens had some crab grass or sand spots, but overall greens were in good condition. Definitely not bad for the price.
Not bad for $30-$40
Don’t pay more than that. First couple holes are sketch but it opens up nicely and has some really nice holes the rest of the way.
Pace is slow. Guys I got paired with told me it is always slow. So if you’re not in a hurry and can get on for $35ish it will be fine.
Trip from UK
This has some lovely holes but the fairways on one and two are very poor. Some of the bunkers have very little sand in and balls can bounce through .If you do stay in it can be like hitting a brick .Greens are generally good.I think in fairness they are trying to improve the course but it’s going to take some time.At the moment I think it a bit overpriced. The bar and food afterwards were lovely and everyone is very friendly .We would go back but would look for a better deal .
A gem of a golf course, better than Disney Magnolia
The course layout and rolling hills terrain make this course over of the best I've ever played. I don't specifically look for challenging courses with randomly unfair pitfalls. Not here either. This course has the right amount of doglegs, water, downhill/uphill/sidehill fairways to add fun. I'm an 11 handicap and i was able to enjoy the challenge of targeting my drives. This course offers a few chances to cut the corner to be aggressive or not. I like planning my shots. I like the chance to take the risk or not. I like afew holes to force me to calm down my drivers big fade. Greens were fast enough but not crazy.
And #10, is a recreation if a similar famous hole at Bay Hill.
Pace of play was nice, midday on a saturday even.
Great layout decent greens
John the director of golf very accommodating always looking out for the golfers needs as well as the starter -
Good value
I booked my round with a Hot Deal. Course has cleaned up a lot of the storm debris. Greens are in good shape Fairways are ok but maybe over seeding will help with this. Love the layout. Hole ten is a little wet but this area is well marked. Played in just over 3 hours
Nice course
They were still cleaning up after the hurricane. The course was in nice shape. We enjoyed our round
Hurricane Hit
I find it difficult to give Green Valley a fair review because it got hit really bad by the hurricane. Many trees down and standing water in places. The tees are like you’re standing in the rough. The fairways are okay. There are a lot of trees on the course, and if you are in them you are unlikely to find your ball because of all the broken branches.
Nowhere is there a flat green, and they don’t look great, but they play really good - looks aren’t everything!
The various elevations and doglegs make the course layout just great!
However, clubhouse not open until 10.00, so no coffee ahead of play. No rakes in any bunkers. Petrol carts with no course layout/sat nav, so not easy to play first time round.
Great Experience
Great experience. Course layout is great! Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Will definitely be golfing here frequently!
