Kings Ridge Golf Club - Kings Course

About
A Lloyd Clifton creation of Kings Course at Kings Ridge Golf Club is an 18-hole beauty and Lake County's best-kept secret. Great greens, severe elevation changes, and well-placed hazards will keep you focused on this course. By focusing on the importance of playability, aesthetics and maintenance, Clifton has captured the natural beauty of the area. It is "thinker's course" where players have an opportunity to use every club in the bag.
King's Ridge opened a second 18-hole course in 2002. The new Ridge Course at Kings Ridge Golf Club is a Par 57, 3660-yard course designed by Ron Garl, making this an ideal location for your 36-hole day.

Still a mess.
Most T-boxes and greens are in very bad shape! Fairways show some imrovement. I live on the course and have been playing other courses near here, similar greens fee but much nicer condition. I hope this place can recover, its a great fun layout.
Green seem to be improving, par 3 tee boxes in tough shape. Staff, course layout, and price make it a solid summer deal for a guy like me just trying to get my handicap below 20
Really Struggling
Always loved the layout, and TBH never in the greatest of shape, but this was really bad. Greens were as bad as any I can ever remember seeing. A resident popped out of her house and told us it was because the sprinklers broke? No idea, but the course was in far worse shape then it had even been in before and greens we just unplayable
Course Emergency
I have written many reviews about King's Ridge Championship course and I'll say it again, this is one of the best layouts in central Florida. The problem is that the conditions are very poor. The greens are in horrible shape. It is almost impossible to roll a good putt. There are more weeds (goose grass) that make putting a nightmare. I encourage players to play the course to actually see the how bad the greens are. For the kind of pricing they are asking it is a very poor value. Please management put some effort and money into the course. Don't let this great layout go to waste. I think next time I play I will take some photos and post them.
Great layout, terrible conditions
Really like the layout, the greens and the fairways were in terrible condition
Course In Terrible Shape
Kings Ridge was in absolute shambles for my round. Over the years, KR has never been perfect, but always consistently above avg. The layout for the course is outstanding. From Tee to Pin, the course was horrible. Tee boxes consisted of sand and weeds identifying as grass. Fwys weren't awful, but they certainly weren't good with numerous areas looking neglected. The greens were just terrible. They had been recently punched (no notification) but somehow managed to be rolling fast which made them all the worse. Major grab grass breaksouts on at least 4 greens. Bunkers in the middle of another 3-4. Parts of more than 3 of the greens were in such bad shape, they will require being completely re-done.
They are getting dangerously close to losing the course to permanently poor conditions.
The course is OK for $10-15 backyard bashing, but any attempts to actually compete on the course will be wasted.
Should be amazing…
Unfortunately, the course is in terrible conditions, and the greens are almost unplayable with weeds.
The layout of the course is amazing and it should be five stars, but with poor fairways and devastating greens and tee boxes it just needs to be dusked up and started fresh with new grass.
Poor greens
Greens were not playable. Not because of recent aerification but because of weeds, bare spots and poor maintenance. Most fairways ok. Played this course years ago and it was in good condition then. No longer the case. Just another Central Florida course in need of good course management.
Terrible condition
It is difficult to rate anything related to this course it was in such bad shape.
no Like
Tee boxes are terrible and so are greens fairways are decent I would say. Great staff. I would rather golf Swiss fairways for same price.
The pits
Been coming here for 20 years and this is by far the worst shape Ive ever seen the course in. An absolute atrocity they’re charging 50$ for this.
Terrible!
My friends and I have played this course many times in 2022, 2023 and 2024. It was always in good shape, and the undulating greens were very challenging. 6/8/2025 was the first time we played Kings Ridge in almost a year. What a huge disappointment! All the greens are in terrible shape, and overrun with crabgrass. Tee boxes aren't much better. We won't be going back.
Ugggh the Greens...
First time playing here and I was really looking forward to my outing. Got to the 1st tee and the fairway was great but when I and my partners arrived at the green we were shocked at the 1st green. There were bare spots all over the green. And it just got worse throughout the round. Tee boxes need work also. For what they were charging I expected a course in better shape. The course has a great layout but they really need to step up their game. Right now the value for the money is not there.
