Chestatee Golf Club

This was my first time to this course. The staff was friendly and helpful which got the round off to a good start. The first hole is a challenging, yet fair starting hole. It allows players to get warmed up before the rest of the challenges begin. The course maneuvers throughout the community which allows for a fun layout. I was very impressed with the condition and challenges presented. The greens were in great shape and rolling nice. Overall, I will definitely return and would recommend this to anyone who wants to play a very fun course.

Stay focused on each shot and give yourself room if you tend to slice very much. It is challenging so play from the tees which suit your game. No shame in moving one set forward.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this course, and that started the minute I arrived. Before we even teed off, I told my playing partner that I would be back. The clubhouse was very nice with a full restaurant and had extremely friendly staff. The practice facility was great all around from the driving range to the chipping and putting greens.

As for the course, it is hilly with a lot of elevation change (especially from the tees). The course design is nice with a mixture of wide open fairways and some that were pretty tight. There were a good number of sand traps (especially on the last par on the back 9 if you try to go for it in two), but not a ton of water. The course was well maintained with a few (very minimal) dirt patches in places that should not come into play such as just beyond the tee box or before the fairway starts. The greens were in incredible shape and rolled very true. It seemed like either the maintenance staff does a great job fixing pitch marks or the clientele is just very responsible on the greens. I typically try to fix mine and one other but often times didn't find a second mark to fix on this course.

All in all, I highly recommend this course and will 100% be back (possibly next weekend).

The course is challenging with very hilly terrain and several water hazzards.

It had been several years since I played here, or any golf for that matter. Getting back in the swing of playing is a little difficult after such a long layoff. Looking forward to playing 2 or 3 times a month again. Would recommend this course without any hesitation.

Had a friend in from out of town to play golf. We really enjoyed the views and the track too. I will ply it again and bring my out of town friends to play there. It is a good course, beautiful scenery and great value.

Played at Chestatee today and was very impressed with the condition of the Greens. BUT that's about it. Fairways are spotty and many of the tee boxes have no grass at all. Maintenance workers needs to pay more attention to the over abundance of weeds growing all over the course and mow the weeds off the hills like they supposed to. Overall, not too impressed with the conditions except for the Greens. Pay more attention to the maintenance of the course instead of focus on the gadget such as Golf Board...

Have always liked this course, it's challenging but fair, conditions usually good to excellent, could play it every day an not get tired or bored.

Enjoyed everything about the course. Definitely worth the extra drive from Atlanta.

There was no such indication on the golfnow app. Very disappointed to drive there, prepaid, only to have to play substandard greens.

The course was very soggy. Balls were lost in the middle of the fairway from getting plugged. Heads up, the greens had been aerated and sanded on Thursday so putting was a big challenge. Think greens fees should not have been $40, more like $25 bc of the greens. Course will be perfect in about 3 weeks.

I had three issues.

1. The greens had been aerated but there was no conspicuous mention of this.
2. The rate indicated 25% discount but the actual rate for the course was the price paid. Thus I paid more than the actual rate of the course when it was in prime condition (March rate $49, price through golf now was discounted 25% and it cost $49 + booking fee, all while the greens were aerated).
3. One of the key features of the course is the mountainous terrain. As a result blind tee shots are to be expected. A Marshall indicated a foursome became a twosome. After seeing the twosome drive off, I teed off only to hear explicatives come from the other twosomes that was said to have left.

Course had very nice greens and fairways. Nice but not too difficult course layout. Has a lot right to left and left to right doglegs. The course is in a community so if you have a bad hook or slice you many not want to hit your driver on a few holes

The course was very nice even if it had snow left in shade places. There were a lot singles we had three so we would let them play through. The greens were very slow because the ground was wet. There were lots of hills but I have played worse. This is a very nice course but wait till the weather gets better because this course is on the lake. Also the fairways are very long.

The day I played was wet and overcast. However I got a great deal on Golfnow so I went to play. I have played this course many times and it continues to be a favorite of mine. The only issue I have with the layout is hole #8....this should be a par 5. For the time of the year and weather conditions the course was in great shape as usual.

Even in mid-winter, this was an attractive layout with a nice mix of challenging and accessible holes. Great weather made for a great day. I'll be back!

cold weather and wind made this course play about 200 yards longer. greens were very hard to read, and our cart died on #18 tee. A very challenging course.

Beautiful day on a great course!.....regrettably we were behind a slow 5some!.....don't understand why they would let a group of 5 play together on a already busy day with an almost 5 hour round finishing in the dark.....hopefully, a better experience in the future?
