Swiss Fairways Golf Course
About
Located just west of downtown Orlando in Clermont, Swiss Fairways Golf Course utilizes the wide open and hilly terrain that is typical for that area, but uncommon throughout the rest of the state. Large greens welcome low handicappers while strategic bunkering is incorporated into the layout to add some challenge. There are over a hundred sand traps in total and 10 water hazards come into play. Swiss Fairways Golf Course has a relaxed, casual atmosphere that is far from the typical country club environment. Although it is relatively unknown, the Swiss Fairways Golf Course will most likely grow in popularity due to its affordable rates and interesting layout.

204 yard (blue tee) Par three third hole Photo submitted by Edpro on 07/08/2013
Website misleading
Website stated 18 holes, when upon arrival and already paid, found out it was only 9 holes to play twice. Very disappointing!
Staff
Can the be more rude and dumber ? We showed up as a 2some, 30 minutes earlier that our tee time. They refused to allow us to start play until 22 minutes after our tee time. Reasoning given was they could not let a 2some play, all groups had to be a 4some. No one was on #1 and a group of 4 were teeing off on #9 of a 9 hole course. Still refused to let us start. None of this made sense and when we asked for explanation, the staff was rude.
This is only a nine hole course. It was formerly a 18 hole course
We were greatly disappointed when we arrived that it is now only a 9 hole course. One staff member said the other nine would be opened in July another staff member said closed permanently. We played 5 years ago and loved it. We have brought several groups there and always enjoyed it. When we made the reservations no where does it say it is a nine hole course. Even on their own web site it doesn’t say anything about the change. We would not have driven an hour for a 9 hole course.
Bummer
Owner was actually working that morning. He was a clown. Packs as many people as he can into a 9 hole course and makes the excuse he is losing money. Sell it to someone who wants to be there
Golfers beware!!! This is now a 9 hole golf course. The current course details were before they sold the property for the back 9. Very average 9 hole course being sold as an 18 hole course!!
DOUBLE BOGEY
Two different groups couldn't find the 10 Hole, because their isn't one.. It's now a nine hole course. Pro shop is OK, but the guy running it may of been having a bad day. And that isn't just my opinion, another group said the same thing. Many greens are in poor repair..
Slow pace
Nice design but very slow pace. Sometimes 15 minutes of wait
Unexpectedly Disappointing
When I played this course the first time the 2nd hole was the coolest par 3 I have ever seen in Clermont.
This course used to be in great shape and was a fun place to play.
Unfortunately this time around it wasn’t the case. After a subpar unmanaged pace of play first 9, my Buddy and I headed towards the back 9 only to find the back 9 (which used to be a great condition) in complete ruins and out of commission.
This lead us to ask the golf course manager to find out what had happened, and was greeted with the most snarky, rude, and unpleasant attitude telling us that we “should of checked the website and that’s why this course is $28” etc.
After this encounter I was enraged with the customer service of this man, and could not even believe my ears.
This course is going down hill very fast and it’s disappointing to see how Mangement is running this golf course.
As someone who is understanding of finical decisions, I can understand why you don’t have enough business to run your back 9, at least explain why we need to play first 9 over again. No wonder the back 9 isn’t open…
Will never come back…
Disappointed
We played the first nine in two hours including waiting on holes 7 they 9. Started the second nine with one foursome other tee, a two some and foursome waiting then us. It took an hour two play the first 3 holes. Backed up at least 3 groups on each hole. We quit after 3 holes. I told the counter person and was told that’s golf in Florida this time of year. This is the third course I have played this week and the first one we had to wait for three groups on every tee box.
Don’t bother
Advertised as 18;hole course, you play the front 9 twice.
Back nine closed permanently.
Two greens severe damage, rest of greens barely playable, lots of weeds and patchy grass.
This course had great potential. Has gone downhill last 2 years.. too bad.
Interesting layout
To play 18 you needed to play the "old" back nine twice as the old front nine is permanently closed. The layout was quite good, fairways and tee blocks okay and greens pretty good. Parts of three holes' ran along a waterskiing course - very unique. All in all a good value.
On the Web site it said 18 hole Golf course
When you get there they tell you the back nine is closed and no can play it.
You need to up date your web page ,because they said it was closed last JUNE 2021
