Swiss Fairways Golf Course
About
Located just west of downtown Orlando in Clermont, Swiss Fairways Golf Course utilizes the wide open and hilly terrain that is typical for that area, but uncommon throughout the rest of the state. Large greens welcome low handicappers while strategic bunkering is incorporated into the layout to add some challenge. There are over a hundred sand traps in total and 10 water hazards come into play. Swiss Fairways Golf Course has a relaxed, casual atmosphere that is far from the typical country club environment. Although it is relatively unknown, the Swiss Fairways Golf Course will most likely grow in popularity due to its affordable rates and interesting layout.

9 Holes…Dead Greens
Played this course many times and was always a fun track and another Clermont gem. Unfortunately this course has completely eliminated its back 9 resulting in subsequent playing of the front 9. Would have been nice to have known about that as the land has now been set aside for building future homes. In addition to the, only 9 hole format, the conditions are abysmal. Noted that this course has never been known for pristine conditions but it’s now a true goat farm. Four of the nine greens had been more than half resodded which was all dead probably due to the fact that they were conserving their water bill (but don’t worry there was plenty of healthy green goose grass to put through intermittently between the dirt and dead sod. Over all it is sadly the last time I will be playing this once fun course.
Nice little course
Water features are amazing. Layout is fun. The greens could be in better condition.
Missing 9
Course was in Ok shape over all but greens are showing lots of crab grass tufts. Did not know that the back 9 has been deleted until we tried to find number 10. This course has been permanently reduced to 9 holes. There was no indication of this on GolfNow when I booked. The idea is that you play the old front 9 twice; the second 9 from a different tee than the first 9. This concept was only explained to us after we completed the first 9. There was no mention of the change at check in. I don't know if there was signage I missed.
Swiss Fairways
The course was in terrible condition; it is no longer an eighteen hole course the back nine has been closed.
Stay away
The course is in absolute terrible condition and you can only play the front 9. I honestly can’t believe how fast this place went downhill in a matter of months. This place is not worth your time or money. Go play at Kings Ridge for the same price….
Not gonna work for 9 holes couse
I saw a lot of complaint about this golf course, the course is in good condition only number 8 and 9 green was patched and need some work, and not gonna work if they will be open for 9 holes, back 9 was very challenging, tee box, fair way was much better, please reconsidered for back 9. Overall was great for today.
Course is a Circus-and the owner is the head clown
If I wanted to practice playing on this course I would walk out my front door take a few steps and drop my golf ball in the crabgrass. Didn’t hit a single fairway, mostly because there aren’t any in sight—it’s all rough. Putting on the green it’s like trying to shoot your ball through potholes on the road under construction, except it doesn’t look like they’re even attempting any construction to improve here.
Owner made it seem like it was a privilege to play here. Give this guy a wig and a red nose, because he’s an absolute clown. The back nine is closed permanently, they should think about doing the same to the front too.
Save your money folks.
Horrible greens and non mowed tee boxes, fairways and rough
Greens are worse than any course around - all crabgrass and regardless of resent rain, nothing mowed as grass on tee box and fairways was 3 to 6 feet niches high and rough was on 8 to 12 inches high. Could see should have closed if no Intention to mow it and greens are not worth playing it any longer even if it was free. It's a shame because they started to make improvements now it's going back to what it used to be, which is very poor conditions.
9 hole course
I went to play 18 holes today and was rudely informed that the back 9 holes of the course is permanently closed. When I asked why the guy said “you’re paying $20 a round. You get what you pay for” needless to say I won’t be coming back. Fairways were overgrown even after the course was closed for a week for “mandatory” maintenance. Some of the greens were decent but 70% of them had patches/thick blades of grass that were very inconsistent. Also the course was packed. Trying to tee off on the first hole was difficult when there is no starter and people coming back from the 9th hole.
Rainy season in Florida
Course was wet and the rough was high, but it is the rainy season in Florida. Always enjoyed this layout. Especially the front 9.
Sad
Great layout but terrible upkeep! When we checked in we were then notified that the back nine is closed permanently, play the front nine twice. Won’t be playing there anytime soon.
It’s Over Johnny
They’ve given up. Upon checking in, they informed me I had to play the front 9 twice because the back 9 is permanently closed. I don’t think they’ve mowed any part of the course since I played a month ago. It had been making a comeback for about a year but I think they finally just gave up. I’ve played here a bunch in the past year and brought friends with me to boot. No more. So long Swiss Fairways! I won’t be back.
DAVEH
OVER PAST YEAR THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE BEST KEPT COURSES IN THE AREA.
Always a great value
Pace of play a little slow. Also, greens recently punched so putting was somewhat of an adventure but other than that, always a pleasure to play Swiss Fairways. We'll be back.
