Swiss Fairways Golf Course

About
Located just west of downtown Orlando in Clermont, Swiss Fairways Golf Course utilizes the wide open and hilly terrain that is typical for that area, but uncommon throughout the rest of the state. Large greens welcome low handicappers while strategic bunkering is incorporated into the layout to add some challenge. There are over a hundred sand traps in total and 10 water hazards come into play. Swiss Fairways Golf Course has a relaxed, casual atmosphere that is far from the typical country club environment. Although it is relatively unknown, the Swiss Fairways Golf Course will most likely grow in popularity due to its affordable rates and interesting layout.

204 yard (blue tee) Par three third hole Photo submitted by Edpro on 07/08/2013
Not what it used to be
I had played here about several years ago and enjoyed it. Fair course and good value. I didn’t realize before I arrived that it is now only 9 holes and the old back 9 was sold. Not as much fun to play the same 9 holes twice. Greens were in poor condition with the ball being affected by the crab grass. Oh well we won’t be playing here again
Could be better
We like the course layout. The fairways were in pretty good shape. Greens had just been aerated, which we weren’t told about on GolfNow when we booked tee time. They had dumped a bunch of the dirt by the green side bunker at hole one. Aside from the aeration, the greens were in rough shape anyways: long grass, lots of weeds. The golf balls were bouncing all over the place, pretty hard to get any kind of read.
This place has potential if they can get it into shape, but as it stands it’s just an ok place for $27. Any more than that and it’s not worth it.
Owner is a complete A hole
On the 18th hole, owner comes up and says we were playing too slow (5 hours). Mind you it was 95 degrees with the real feel temperature of 115. Apparently we were supposed to run to each shot. Mind you, there was no one behind us complaining that we were holding them up. Terrible way to treat people on an already dead course.
Solid course
Even though the course no longer offers their back 9 it still gets the job done. I am a repeat customer and will continue to golf here.
Will be back!
I've played Swiss fairways 4 times and I really enjoy the course. Hole #2 is awesome and the course itself is fun to play. The greens are all over the place, some are nice but most are rough. But honestly for how inexpensive a round of golf is there, I dont mind looking past that. Overall I'd say if you want a practice round or you are trying to improve your golf game and getting rounds in this summer, this is the place!
You Get What You Pay For
I guess I should have read some reviews instead of going off of the number of stars. The greens are in very rough shape. When I asked the guy in he proshop about the greens he got belligerent. I guess I offended him.
Always remember, you get what you pay for.
Worth Every Dime
For the price I got it for I was extremely pleased with the condition of the course, pace of play and the layout. Each time I play this course I see definite improvement. Will be back to play this course again. If you're in the area and don't want to break the bank but play on a decent course Swiss Fairs Ways is the place.
I booked a 7am tee time. Showed up about 640am to hit the driving range and warm up. Nobody was at the pro shop to check in so I called the number that was taped to the glass window at the front. The employee answered and I told him I was there to check in for my tee time. He said “yeah we open at 7”. Staff showed up about 658am or so. I was able to check in at that point. The course was in pretty rough condition. The fairways were about the length of the rough and your ball would sit down in it. Layout was cool.
You get what you pay for
9 hole course that you play thru twice on different tees. Course is in rough shape which makes the course pretty challenging actually. Not much difference between the fairways and the rough. Greens are all over the place. Great views. You will see whether skiers. Hole number 2 is picturesque. Driving range is mats and my manicured at all, but has distance markers every 25ft. Only 2 or 3 other groups playing with us. No one got on top of each other. John was man I no the desk and is very friendly.
Not good
I don't usually play 9 holes courses, yes, this is a 9 hole course that suggest using a different tee on the 2nd 9, but it was on a Hot Deal so I took it. The fairways needed cutting badly and we're like playing in the rough in many places. The friendly staff was a good point however.
What a treat!
First time here. Conditions were good. I liked the layout. It provides a few risk/reward situations for shot selection. Hole 2 is worth the trip. Hitting over water skiers was a new experience. Playing the front twice was actually very enjoyable as the course was not full and pace of play was not effected in the least. I’ll be back.
Overall good enough for the price
Biggest issues are the swamp holes, mostly the third hole that tends to be very wet. Par 3 holes are a bit long for senior golfers.
Afternoon T-Time
Not great but not bad. Sprinklers turning on threw me off a bit though.
Fun course
Fun course, has some challenges while also being fairly forgiving. Love seeing the water skiing. Super fair prices in the proshop. And I love their dogs always roaming around!
you had a hot deal at 9:00 am, you were still playing at 3:30, thats 6.5 hours when I went to school. Also, they never mentioned 4 groups that went around them. Another issue, they brought their own alcohol and were drunk, hardly carry their clubs to their car. Last thing, wore gym clothes, should never have allowed to play.
