Forest Oaks Golf Club in Lake Worth is a public course that is still one of south Florida's best-kept secrets despite having good conditions and affordable rates. The golf course offers an enjoyable round that is challenging but playable. Opened in the 1970s, it has a classic layout that showcases what Florida golf courses are known for. It is a tight layout that requires a fair amount of accuracy but beginners won't feel too out of their league. The layout offers an excellent transition from an executive course. It measures less than 6,000 yards, offering a quick and enjoyable round for more advanced players. Forest Oaks G.C. offers the quality and conditions of a country club course but the friendly and casual atmosphere of a public facility.

Fun Day
Professional & Friendly staff, greens aerated last week & looking great already. Again challenging & had lots of fun. Great & bad shots. That’s part of golf. Best rates in Palm Beach County. Recommend to all types of golfers.
If you like playing in a 400 yard bunker this course is for you
The fairway was in terrible shape, dirt and sand everywhere. The tee boxes were even worse with crab grass covering every inch. Not to mention the old gas golf carts that hardly worked... this course needs more greens keepers

Terrain très ordinaire, mais, le monsieur à la réception vaut le déplacement. Très très gentil et de plus, il parle français.

This golf course has been transformed the past two years. The greens are in excellent shape and fareways good. Course plays much harder than current rating. You must keep in the somewhat narrow fareways.
The staff are excellent. Always willing to accommodate your needs. AND they don’t stack foursomes on 10 when you are just making turn at 9 (unlike most courses in area)!
Highly recommend you give them a try.
disappointed
Chose the course for the little above average reviews and reasonable price. Very disappointed in the course conditions, was like playing on a dirt parking lot. Best lie was when I hit it out of bounds and ended up in a yard that had grass. Also, Golf now price was almost the same as posted in the ‘clubhouse’/bar area.
A GEM OF A COURSE! A MUST PLAY!!!
New owners took over a few years ago. They continue to invest and put sweat equity into the club. They are on top of everything. The greens are amazing. The greenery is perfectly maintained on the entire course. The wild life is amazing (the owners don't arrange this - but it's a testament to good golf karma in South Florida!). We drive 30 minutes from West Palm to play this course. We must pass 40 other clubs along the way. No way we will ever change our allegiance to these salt of the earth owners. The grounds crew is also professional. By the way....for those that may not be able to play 9 holes without a potty break -- I have never seen such clean and bright bathrooms on a golf course. Ok. Strange comment on a golf review. However, it shows the level of detail that is important to these owners.
Nice Greens
I really enjoyed playing this course. Greens are nice and the price for food and beer is reasonable. Will play this course again for sure.
Nice greens but rest of course needs a lot of work
The people couldn't have been more friendly. Paired with another couple (H&W) who knew the layout. The greens are in 1st class shape. The fairways are at best spotty. I think there is no irrigation system except for the greens. It has been very dry in S Florida which hasn't helped this place. Some nice par 3's some not so. Didn't pay much to play so it wasn't a value issue.
The pace of play was actually quite good. There were water stations with cold water and a few bathrooms which was great. The course has potential just needs more (some) grass in the fairways. If you are a serious golfer probably not your cup of tea but for a once a weeker looking for a place to bang it around it is fine. Again the people could not have been nicer but to be honest nice only goes so far.
Great Greens
I have played this course many times over the past few years. The greens are always in great shape, the fairways need lots of work, hit mostly off dirt on approach shots.
Got hot deal worth the money, don't think regular price is good value. They need to spend time and money on fairways in off season.
good track
we enjoyed the course. fairways and greens were good. many of the greens are small postage stamps. Back 9 is more challenging as fairways are very narrow. had to wait on most holes so it probably took us 4.5 hours.
golf club staff were very friendly. FWIW wife is a beginner and she didn't like the course as much but I would play it again
