Forest Oaks Golf Club
About
Forest Oaks Golf Club in Lake Worth is a public course that is still one of south Florida's best-kept secrets despite having good conditions and affordable rates. The golf course offers an enjoyable round that is challenging but playable. Opened in the 1970s, it has a classic layout that showcases what Florida golf courses are known for. It is a tight layout that requires a fair amount of accuracy but beginners won't feel too out of their league. The layout offers an excellent transition from an executive course. It measures less than 6,000 yards, offering a quick and enjoyable round for more advanced players. Forest Oaks G.C. offers the quality and conditions of a country club course but the friendly and casual atmosphere of a public facility.

cheap no frills golf (do not expect help from the staff!!)
I have played here many times in the past and have never been so disappointed in the staff behavior before.
We had to to load and unload our clubs onto the cart.
Take any cart you want was the only communication I had with the "ONE" staff member after confirming the tee time and purchasing beverages. the course is in need of "TLC" . It was sort of hard to judge the green speeds when some holes had just been watered down prior to our approach, you would think with a afternoon tee time and you were the only group on the course they could of waited until after we had played thru.
A tee time for 10 dollars or less and you wanted to work on your game with no one in front or behind you, then this course is perfect !!!!!
Terrible conditions
What can I expect for $14? Terrible green, tees and fairways. If you enjoy hitting 90% from sand then you'll love this course, good luck finding grass on the Blue tees. The staff is great but the course conditions are terrible.
1st time this year
greens have just been punched and not sanded well maybe I will try it again in a month. The course has some personality and not overly hard so if its in good condition its a nice confidence builder
THE COURSE IS FAN TO PLAY
IT PLAYS IN A WAY THAT LETS ME SHARPEN UP MY SHORT GAME
Took another look
Decided to give the course another try last Sunday with my wife and her uncle (since a recent prior experience had not been too good as I posted before). We did not see the owners this time, but their staff was quite friendly. As others have noted, many of the fairways are tight, so the course can be challenging if you can’t hit the ball straight. But none of the holes are unfair, and for intermediate players, the course offers many opportunities to practice shaping your shots, both to the right and left. The more time you play the course the easier it becomes, and it does appear that progress is being made on the greens and fairways. We stopped for a beer on their covered patio, which provided a very pleasant finish to the round. At the right price point, the course is worth playing.
This courses is perfect for us. We are not professional.
I played a few golf courses this winter. This is the one I like best. If you want to play golf and have fun it's the place to go. The peoples working there are friendly. We are snowbirds from NB Canada and I will recommend it to my friends next year.
Thank you,

Great play for the money !
We've played here 4 times in the last 2 months (3 players). Enjoyed it each time. Not real crowded and it's in good shape and definitely challenging enough for our abilities. Good and friendly staff each time. Can't rate the food, never ate there. I read a few bad reviews and since my experience was just the opposite of bad, I had to write a review with our experience there, no complaints at all.
Owners have chip on shoulder
Current owners are unfriendly to Golfnow players. One of the owners (Nick) suggested we play elsewhere because he did not make any money on the round. Course was empty but he made us wait for 20 minutes to go out. Owner claims the round should have cost $31. He's dreaming. Course is sort of strange as it winds through old condos, and there is little in the way of amenities (most of the carts don't even have windshields or a covering for your bags it it rains; there is no real driving range and their putting green has 2 holes about 20 feet apart. The course is in fair condition (if you play winter rules) and a decent value at about $15 or less. We would have stayed for a beer (no draft available) if the owners were more welcoming.
narrow fairways soso condition
the fairways are very narrow rought condition will only play this for a cheap price
Fun small course
This course is fairly tight. It was very good for tightening up tee shots and long iron use. The staff was very friendly, the food was tasty and fresh. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
Unplayable
Greens in good shape the fairways hard and no turf.
fun track...simple yet affordable and enjoyable
Tiny little course that was purchased recently by a group of guys from Norwalk CT. They have been really doing a great job of turning the old goat track around. In just a short time...the greens have improved tremendously. Now...this isn't a fancy course or a brutal test of golf by any stretch- but it is a very affordable course that's super friendly and getting better all the time.
HORRIBLE - WHACK & RUN - NOT A REAL GOLF COURSE!!!!!
Played as a twosome thru these CONDO CANYONS.
Got caught between some Q-TIP WHACK & RUN tourists who were trying to set a speed record. They hit the ball 75 yards - not hard enough to take a divot, all putt at the same time time, scatter to race their ball to the flag.
Our tee off was at 12:00 - finished at 2:50 - that's under 3 hours!!
and were chastized TWICE by the ??RANGER??
NOT A REAL GOLF COURSE - A WHACK & RUN TRACK!!!!
YIPEE we finished under 3 hours - score - they don't count here!
Good value for the money
Good value for the money, very tight course intertwined among residential housing.
Wonderful Owners
This is the 3rd year I have run a tournament for the American Legion Post 141 at Forest Oaks. This year I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner of the course; Nick and Vince. What great guys! Everything from setting up the tournament to the dinner following ran smoothly, they were both very helpful. The course is in great shape and we hope to continue our tournaments at this course for years to come. Hats off the both of them and all the staff at Forest Oaks. Keep up the good work! I would certainly recommend this course!

The true gem of Lake Worth
This golf course is truly a gem within Lake Worth. The comparison of the course from this time last year has done a complete 180. The management is great and the value for your money if unbelievable for food, beer, and golf.
Wow, what a change a year can make
Wow. First and foremost, I'm a snowbird that just happened to come down late to the party this year. I typically will play Forest Oaks on a whim because of their great prices but I was shocked to go out this time and see how much of a change the new management has done to the course. I'm extremely pleased and saw a huge improvement over the previous years. I can't wait to see what the next few years will bring, keep up the great work!
Greens
The greens were very good. The best I've ever seen there. They're right up there with the best public courses in the county. The fairways are coming along nicely as well!
Thin Lies
The course has good greens but bumpy sloping tee boxes and fairways that are often barren with thin lies or no grass just dirt. Even the rough has thin lies everywhere.
Mérite une meilleure evaluation
Très surpris
Beaux fairways compare à d autres terrains
Les verts très beaux
Valeur qualité prix excellent
