Golf Club At South Hampton

Course is in good shape for the amount of play it gets. Many greens are suffering again, but most are fine to putt.

Busy Saturday Afternoon due to early morning frost delay. Had a 2:30 tee time and didn’t tee off til after 3:20 due to lack of operating golf carts. Greens were mediocre at best and golf carts need upgrading.

Unfortunately, the course isn’t what it used to be. The driving range was completely chewed up. No grass and no level ground. Impossible to properly warm up and get a feel for anything. The course was only marginally better. Tee boxes were OK but greens were unacceptable. Patchy, lots of their spots, and inconsistent throughout. To make it worse, they ran out of carts. The kid in the cart barn said they weren’t charged the night before. Overall, it’s obvious that management is not doing a good job at this course. I’ve been playing here for a long time. In the last year or so this place has gone downhill. It’s not worth the prices that they’re charging. I get that golf is expensive everywhere in this area, but the prices to play on these types of conditions are unacceptable. Don’t even get me going on how much range balls cost.

I love this course. Probably my most favorite to play in Northeast Florida. The greens, tee boxes and fairways are always in great condition all year long. Forgiving but also challenging course that all can play and have fun.

Love the course and one of my favorites...Just needs improvement on the greens and tee boxes...I know one day the course will be back...

Course layout is generally good with Mark Macomber Course. However green conditions and fairway grass are poorly maintained compared with last year.

It was like on many greens, we were putting on sand covered paint ! The greens have a long way to go to reach acceptable status ! When these issues are present, golfers should be notified in advance and the green fees should be reduced accordingly ! J

Winter has not been friendly to the greens. Everything was well done except the rough conditions on the greens. I think I might return later in the spring after growing season has some time to fill in greens. I still enjoy the course.

This course still looks like crap...has been for quite some time. On the plus side, the pace of play is much faster since there aren't many golfers wasting their money here.

South Hampton has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, they are not tapping into it. To be clear, I am not a "course snob". I will play on a cow pasture. But don't charge me $65+ to play on a course that isn't much better condition than a cow pasture. Greens here are in pretty rough shape. I played here almost two years ago and it was bad then. I thought I'd give it another shot to see if they had improved but they have not. No coolers on the carts but for some reason, two buckets full of sand. Who is using that much sand?? I won't be returning to this course.

Absolutely no communication from staff that tee times were 45 minutes behind and that we would therefore not be able to finish the round. Such slow play and never saw a course marshal. The greens were a mess. Won’t ever play this course again.

The greens are in terrible condition! I played here a couple of weeks ago and they were much better. Not sure what happened since, but they should not be charging top price for the condition it's in now. Also the day I played it was backed up. My tee time was 12:06, finally teed off at 12:55!! Will not be going back for a while!
