The Golf Club at South Hampton was designed to give every golfer appropriate risk-and-reward opportunities that supply both encouragement to beginners and challenges for more advanced players. The slope and contour of the course’s landscape is its trademark with strategic mounding and over 60 contoured bunkers that emphasize the terrain’s natural undulations. The course features rolling fairways and massive greens. There are also sixteen large lakes that come into play throughout. The signature hole is the tremendous par-5, 17th, which is a scenic hole that features a lake, fairway bunkers, and a breaking green. Although the course is a challenge, there are six sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Pace of play was awful

We teed off at 5:06 and we were unable to complete more than 11 holes because of groups in front of us. 3 groups ahead was a single (around 10 year old) walking and holding groups up. He would not let anyone through. Behind them was a twosomes whose kids were no playing but running all over the course chasing the golf carts causing slowness. Ahead of us was a single and he was held up as well. We then had a guy behind us hit up on us out of impatience and he was classless and rude.

Nice course, good value for the money

Enjoyed my round of golf, everything was nice except for some greens and the pace of play was slow.

This course is in bad shape.

Compared to other courses on this street, this one is in bad shape. Greens are bumpy and bare. Fairways have very little grass and are full of weeds. Several bunkers were in bad shape. The driving range has no grass. This is not typical of south hampton. Not sure what is going on.

While this is Maybe acceptable for $30 after 3, it's ridiculous for $50+. I hope they start putting some of that money back into the course.

Course

South Hampton has very good facilities.

The greens were dormant and appeared to have been sanded recently. Putting was very challenging due to the condition of the greens.

Good overall experience for all golfers

The course was in good shape except for the bunkers had standing water from prior evening. Wide fairways made it red enjoyable for higher handicap golfers.

Slow play

Without any course monitors, the pace of play was ridiculously slow. If there were course monitors, they didn’t do their job. We completed our round in 5+ hours which is pathetic.

Great Value

This was the third time playing this course. The layout is awesome. Doglegs in both directions. Greens are mostly large with interesting slopes. Condition in March were very good. A challenging course but not too difficult.

A friendly staff and nice clubhouse and restaurant.

The price makes this a great value

Conditions are not what they used to be, rude staff

I must start by saying this was a $100 round, this is a $50 course at best, greens are bumpy, bunkers are not properly edged, however, the worst part was the starters, we were a threesome and brought my father along, the starter said “he better not be playing or we are kicking you out” assuming we were sneaking someone in without paying, my father can’t even swing now and was in town for Players week, I do not recommend this course at all, much better options around.
