Golf Club At South Hampton

So the first think we noticed when we arrived is that the greens had been punched probably about a week ago and we’re super bumpy. There was no warning on golf now nor in the pro shop. They were pretty bad. Next I asked about water on course and was pretty much laughed at telling me if you want water gotta buy bottled waters but the bar hooked me up. There are places for water on tons of holes? It’s summer in Florida? How can you not put water out there? Then we were fine for about 3 holes then a complete stop. The back nine took almost 3 hours. It was pretty ruff. For the price of the round it wasn’t worth it. Fun course though. Oh and the driving range looks like the haven’t moved the ropes in a week. Like practicing out of a bunker.

Love everything about this course and is a very golferfriendly.

Gray design of the course. Starter was a straight hole. Literally 10 minutes before my tee time telling me I was up, told him I was waiting for my friends. He said they can meet you, you are up. I said it’s 10 minutes till tee off I will wait. He said no and I had to give up my cart as well for another group. Yet my friend had to drive out to me. The facilities are amazing but the starter could be re-educated!!!!

When asked point blank at check in if there were any course conditions, (as I always do) I was told the course was in good shape, and come to find out that morning the greens were heavily sanded and punched. I just cant fathom why I was lied to. the man in pro shop must have been well aware of this, yet he failed to tell me. Why would he do that? Plus, golfnow had no mention whatsoever about this sanding and holes punched. There was also new sod in a number of areas.

This course was as good as advertised, which is hard to come by....staff was extremely friendly...this is a course for everyone....I will be back..

The greens had apparently just been sanded a day or so before i played. My expectations are that Golfnow inform me of something that significant prior to me reserving a tee time. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication.

Overly aggressive starter, treats people like they are his "subjects," and likes to bark orders at people. Also get the feeling he is doing people a favor by allowing you to play there. More so if you are not a member and he does not know you. I have experienced this before from one elderly gentleman in particular there. Perhaps in his former life he did not manage people or have that authority, now is his chance to order people around. Kinda like overzealous TSA agents given authority they can't handle. no water on course that I could find. Otherwise good course, nice greens.

A great day on a great course, does not get better than that. Greens in awesome shape, tee boxes were well kept. This is a pretty friendly course for all levels of play. I will definitely return.

I will say these reviews scared me to play for awhile because everyone said that the greens were awful. The greens were in great shape. I think there was only 1 green that was good but not in amazing shape. I do not know why people are writing awful reviews about this course. Those people need to get their eyes checked. I will recommend this course to anyone.

The course from the tee box to fairway to greens are in great shape!

Great course overall. Beautiful fairways well maintained. Only gripe is we were playing in the dead of summer and there was no water coolers on the course. This would’ve been fine if the cart girls had ample water but alas they didn’t. Aside from the heat exhaustion I suffered the course was well maintained and challenging

I was quite pleased with the condition of the course overall. It had been a while since I played here and I was not disappointed. Good test of golf and hope to see an upcoming Golfweek tournament there in the future. Keep it up.!!!
