About
Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is carved from gently rolling hills located just outside of Orlando in the city of Leesburg. Although the wide fairways are relatively flat, the golf course's terrain provides the greens with gentle undulation. Sparkling lakes provide scenery while also coming into play as water hazards on nine holes. There are also doglegs and bunkers throughout to provide the golf course with even more challenges. Much of the land that the club occupies has been preserved as a wetlands area, offering golfers a glimpse of native wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, Monarch Golf Club at Royal Highlands is popular due to its accessible layout that accommodates both low and high handicap players.

excellent staff, course was in great shape even with massive amount of rain recently. would recommend this course to all.
Monarch golf coarse
Check in was easy and prompt and was pair up with a threesome that I played with before so that was fun
The coarse is in good shape , fairways are clean and short , and the green are in good shape too except tricky to read.
Yes I will play here again and again and yes I would recommend this coarse.
Very enjoyable course
Course in great shape, Greens are true. Finished round in just over 3 hours. Highly Recommended
A Busy Course On A Saturday
We got everything we expected at Monarch - friendly and courteous service, great advise, and a challenging course in great condition.
Pace of play was an issue due to the popularity of the course which is surrounded by several senior and upscale neighborhoods. However, it didn't dampen our spirits as we completed our round in just over 4 hours.
We look forward to coming back to Monach on our next trip to the area.
The course was in good shape. Greens are still coming around from aeration.
My first time at Monarch. The staff was outstanding, going out of his way to get me on the course since I arrived early for my tee time. Fun course.
Mid day play at monarch golf coarse
The coarse is in good shape , no major burnt spots. The fairways are kinda wide and forgiving and the greens are challenging.
Greens were slow
The course was in good shape and the pace was very good.
Only played 9 holes got rained out., course was great looking forward to another round
great outing
The greens were just punched and top-dressed, they were a little slow but played very nicely. Had a great time, fairways were very nice, lots of grass. Some of the tee boxes were lacking, but overall it was very good. Will come back over and over again.
Stressed out conditions
Course seemed stressed due to seasonal change. Recent aeration of rough was not disclosed. Played a month earlier and the course was in much better condition.
Shotgun start!
We booked a tee for 1 o'clock and when we got there we found out we were teamed up with a single and playing with the seniors in a shotgun start! If we had known this before we wouldn't have played but I must say we had good fun although the pace was a little slow as there were lots of 4 balls and we were a 3. The course is in good condition and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely go back.
Shame
The course was great we played with another couple but the staff were miserable not what I expected as this is not the normal from Florida
Seasonal
I was disappointed with the turf conditions but in reflection it s March and there hasn't been much rain.
Short but Fun Course
We discovered Monarch last winter about 30 minutes from The Villages, and played it several times. This winter staying in Kissimmee it's an hour drive, but well worth the trip. The front 9 has lots of water hazards, but none on the back. Playing it from the tips (6000 yards) makes it a challenge with a lot of elevation changes on the back 9. Good course conditions and interesting holes - no 2 the same. We play lots of courses during the 3 months we are in Florida and highly recommend it.
We will be back!!
We played here in 2016 after we moved to Florida. Then we joined a club in 2017 - decided not to rejoin and wanted to play various courses. We really enjoyed this course - fairway and greens were nice. Looking forward to playing there again and again and again!!
