The Plantation Golf Club - Otter Creek Course
About
The Plantation at Leesburg offers two championship courses, the Cranes Roost Course and the Otter Creek Course. The Otter Creek Course features an interesting layout that is wide open on the front nine, while the back nine is rife with towering trees. Situated on hilly terrain, the golf course features gently rolling fairways and the medium-sized greens have some slight undulations. As its name suggests, a creek flows through the golf course and comes into play on several holes throughout. The semi-private Plantation at Leesburg provides two excellent golf courses, but they also feature a practice facility and staff of golf professionals to help players of all skill levels.

Beautiful day for golf
Very slow pace to start. Lots of rain previous day caused problems on the course. Water in bunkers and very wet fairways
Not worth the time
Course only had 9 holes open and it was cart path only. The issue is the golf now did not have the condition of the course showing. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were horrible.
Terrible conditions
I almost can’t believe that you have to pay to play this course. Back nine is in terrible condition. Little to no grass on the fareways. The greens were pure sand, no grass anywhere. The front was slightly better but not in good condition. Would not recommend this course. Very poor conditions. We have played this course in years before and a couple of holes would be a little rough but this year it was terrible. We will not go back.
Playable potential
The layout was great the only drawback frankly, were the greens especially on the back nine very poorly kept
Baaaad
They need to get a really good greens keeper and close for about 6 months
Fare ways and greens need a lot of work
Greens are like putting on sand with very little grass the fare ways are like hitting off dirt
I will not play it again until they do something with both
The staff inside need to find a different job they are not customers friendly
I play a lot of golf. Have never played a course in conditions this poor. So few blades of grass you were playing out of dirt/sand all day. Same for what you would call greens; however, no grass. Staff was nice and we played quickly.
Do not play otter creek
The course is in horrible condition. Greens have more sand than grass. Fairways are not much better. Total waste of time and money.
Customer service
I think you should change the staff inside the clubhouse
They are very rude and don’t know who’s coming to play golf
They don’t seem to look up to see the tee times on golf now or tee off and it takes forever to get out
The course needs a little tender loving care fairways and greens are a little rough
Stay away from Otter
The course is not maintained. The greens were horrible.
HOPE FOR THE BEST
It has been a tough year; I am in hopes they can bring this course back but it will take a minor miracle!!
never go back
Course conditions were terrible. On the back nine, the greens were mostly sand. Only redeeming asset was that I only had to spend 3 hours playing it.
horrible greens
From the first tee, I knew there was going to be trouble. The fairways were so very thin, almost no grass to hit off then we got to the greens, what a mess. Very little grass and mostly dirt. It was a waste of time to try to read a put. The management keeps talking about how they are improving, but over the past months nothing has improved. The only good part is the ball just rolls and rolls - due to being no fairway grass and being so dry and hard.
Rude Staff, Rude Members.
I booked a tee time through Golf Now just to get to the course and be informed by the Pro Shop attendant that Golf Now bookings are a “headache” and that my group could not play at the time we had booked, due to overbooking on their part. My group and I waited patiently for tee off and were able to go off 30 minutes later than the original tee time. The Starter was nice and let us know that the course was very busy and we would be playing back to back, which is expected this time of year. Two holes in, my group and I are waiting on the group ahead to clear the fairway before we hit our tee shots. Right as I am in my backswing, a member roars up with his cart and yells at us telling us to keep pace and that we are holding everyone up. I proceed to hit my shot and ask the gentleman why he had to do that in my backswing, I also inform him that we are keeping pace and there is no issue with our pace of play. He makes a rude remark and we go forward to the fairway where our tee shots ended up. Two holes later we are on a par three tee box waiting for the green to clear, my brother sets his ball on the tee box and takes a few practice swings on the back while the group ahead clears the green. The same member rolls up again and tells my brother to back off and let the group ahead play, to which I ask if he will simply leave us alone. This same member and his group followed us the remainder of the nine holes and heckled us, to which we just disregarded them. We paid for 18, but only ended up playing 9 as we just didn’t want any problems. We finished the 9 holes under 2 hours, so pace of play was never an issue, it just seems like someone was having a bad day and taking it out on outsiders. Golf is meant to be a fun game to enjoy the outdoors and the company you bring, there’s just no reason to treat others that way.
greens and fairways horrible
sand and no grass on most greens at least 11if not more
maybe 5 excellent greens a lot of patchy greens some were a joke should of been temp greens to concentrate on getting them back to shape . very disappointed other course they have is 85% better.
