The Plantation Golf Club - Otter Creek Course

About
The Plantation at Leesburg offers two championship courses, the Cranes Roost Course and the Otter Creek Course. The Otter Creek Course features an interesting layout that is wide open on the front nine, while the back nine is rife with towering trees. Situated on hilly terrain, the golf course features gently rolling fairways and the medium-sized greens have some slight undulations. As its name suggests, a creek flows through the golf course and comes into play on several holes throughout. The semi-private Plantation at Leesburg provides two excellent golf courses, but they also feature a practice facility and staff of golf professionals to help players of all skill levels.

Finally.....
found the bathroom on hole 15!!! It's hidden behind a fence that looks like it's someone private property!! Heads up Steph, get to know the course!!!
The fourth time is the charm.
This was actually the fourth time we played it since arriving on January 3 from Pennsylvania. The course wasn’t horrible the first three times. We realize it is winter so courses won’t be ideal. However after playing a course north of the villages that was in in absolute pristine conditions, I now realize we don’t have to settle for so much less. Unfortunately the fourth time for us is enough! We had had quite a bit of rain so I’m guessing that contributed to the many poor shots that we didn’t have on the northern course. You can have fairways that are less than ideal, but when the greens are in such deplorable condition it is unacceptable. The slowness of the greens can be forgiven because of all the rain, but the many damaged spots cannot. I really hate to leave such a bad review, but after waiting days to play because of the weather, this outing was truly disappointing. Fortunately we were paired with two great guys to make our day more enjoyable.
Should note when course is under repair
Overall I liked the course, can’t wait to go in the spring or summer for better overall conditions, the greens were like putting on a shag carpet, and also like putting on a sand pile,
They were rewiring the irrigation exposed wires everywhere(low voltage) better signage could be added, pace of play was ok, but they would rather send a foursome then a two some? 2 play quicker than four especially on a day that had many open tee times!
Nice day
Conditions are improving and the staff is wonderful as always. Come once a week here and never disappointed
First and Last
Early indicator: wife reported ladies restroom out of order. Had to use men's. Practice putting green had bare spots. Course greens were similar. Difficult to find grass on fairways.
Positive point: Challenging layout.
Not a fun experience
Disappointed with the experience. Very poor course conditions and very slow play.
Second time playing this course nice layout pretty challenging. Who ever designed it obviously was a left handed golfer
Otter creek
2nd time played in about 6 weeks. Was disappointed last time but wanted to give them second chance. Conditions are much improved from last time. Will definitely play again soon. Good value for the price.
Course needs some TLC.
I decided to give this course another try as I had played it about 2 months ago and it was wet and in a little disrepair. This time I was more disappointed. Upon arrival I was informed that we were being 'SQUEEZED IN". Even though I had an email with a verified tee time. I was then charged extra because I paid with a credit card although I was not aware of this beforehand. The course was dryer this time, but the fairways were very dry with very little grass or wet to the point of almost unplayable. There did not seem to be any consistency. the driving range which was next to #10 green and next to #11 tee was like party central with loud music. This was not very considerate to golfers playing or even other people on the range. I think this course could be a real diamond if some money was spent on it and some of the items I addressed were looked into.
