About
The Plantation at Leesburg offers two championship courses, the Cranes Roost Course and the Otter Creek Course. The Otter Creek Course features an interesting layout that is wide open on the front nine, while the back nine is rife with towering trees. Situated on hilly terrain, the golf course features gently rolling fairways and the medium-sized greens have some slight undulations. As its name suggests, a creek flows through the golf course and comes into play on several holes throughout. The semi-private Plantation at Leesburg provides two excellent golf courses, but they also feature a practice facility and staff of golf professionals to help players of all skill levels.

Course needs some TLC.
I decided to give this course another try as I had played it about 2 months ago and it was wet and in a little disrepair. This time I was more disappointed. Upon arrival I was informed that we were being 'SQUEEZED IN". Even though I had an email with a verified tee time. I was then charged extra because I paid with a credit card although I was not aware of this beforehand. The course was dryer this time, but the fairways were very dry with very little grass or wet to the point of almost unplayable. There did not seem to be any consistency. the driving range which was next to #10 green and next to #11 tee was like party central with loud music. This was not very considerate to golfers playing or even other people on the range. I think this course could be a real diamond if some money was spent on it and some of the items I addressed were looked into.
Poor condition
We played here yesterday and the course was in very rough shape. Some tee boxes had almost no grass on them. Some of the greens were in very bad shape. The fairways were definitely sparse as far as grass goes and very hard to boot. Course layout is very strange. On some of the holes, there are trees hanging so far out over the fairways that it’s very difficult to get around. We will not be back any time soon.

Fairways were bare, no grass. Hard pan everywhere.Greens were bare in spots. Some greens had grass on the back nine but were slow because of cut higher.
Awful
Some of the worst greens I’ve ever seen. The two older guys at the pro shop desk are super disrespectful as well.
Needs some TLC
We played Otter Creek. We really did like the layout of the course. There are a few holes on the back nine that are a little tricky. The greens were fine to putt on but also could use some TLC. We would definitely recommend the course and would play it again. In fact, we are going back today which is only two days later.
Very dry fairways....
Really dry, had to use irons, once I was able to use my 5 club. Didn't care for that lady, Debby at the desk, kind of terse. She ssaid bathroom was at the 14th hole - N0T!! Got to t he 15th and had to call - she didn't even know where it was,had to asksomeone. FYI - 15th hold behind the blue tee - hidden!!! They need to put a sign up - BATHROOM - with an arrow!!!
Yesterday did turn out to be a good day, I had 6 pars/ 1 birdie and scored 77!!! Usually average between 84-87, on a good day!!
Going down hill
I have played here many times. Fairways and rough are the worst I've seen. I really like the course but it appears to be suffering from neglect. I hope it gets some attention soon.
Not what it was.
I have been coming here for.years because it's fairly close to.my home and its.cheap. Booked as.a.single because Covids keeping my usual.foursome away. I asked for my own cart.because of.Covid. I.was.charged.$10 extra.Not happy but I paid it. Greens are in terrible shape. Fairways not.much better. Its too bad because it used to be one of our favorites.
Very bad conditions
I played the course a few months ago and it was just okay, but last week I played again and it was terrible! Some of the tee boxes we're so rutted I could not find a level stance and most of them were in bad shape. The greens were an atrocity. They also had the sprinklers running while we were playing. The price is cheap but I still won't be back for a very long time.
Bring extra golf balls
the course was challenging but the tees were in poor condition and fairways were had large areas not watered and no grass.
