Costa Del Sol Golf Club

Costa del Sol is one of the best deals around. Water forces you to manage the course instead of just going for it on every shot. Greens in good condition. Lots of tees repair work currently underway, so temporary tees not great, but pace is great. Staff super friendly and food a bargin.

For at least 3 holes you are in constant danger of getting hit by a range ball. Not to mention an absurd amount of range balls are scattered in the fairways and greens making it very difficult to find your ball. The golf carts are constantly giving warnings about being too close to the water, and about the cart path. On some holes even on the cart path it’s telling you are off the cart path. This becomes extremely annoying. The gps screen on the carts is on the bottom right behind the cup holders. If you have cups in the cup holders you cannot see the screen. Awful design.

This course has a great layout and is never “over booked”. Terrific pace of play. Good value for the money!

Pace of play was horrendous! Majority of the golfers were scoring 10s or better a hole and spending time looking for balls in the water while groups were behind. Played through a couple groups just to run into the same crap. Got paired up with 2 guys sharing clubs, not a big deal at all. Then I realized they had a large bucket of range balls in the cart that they were using for their balls and constantly loosing them. If you want a regular golf experience spend the extra $50 bucks and play somewhere else. Tee boxes varied from hole to hole. Most greens were actual in decent shape but very slow. Overall very poor experience for me and would not recommend it to any serious golfers.

I’ve played the course for the first time this year and was happily surprised with the improvements. I’d say the conditions are 3 1/2 stars and getting better.

Overall the course was very good but women get little respect . Forward (red) tee box̌es were either in very poor condition or non-existent, requiring play from gold tee boxes. Tee box #2 was also difficult to locate. Despite above problems it was an enjoyable experience for the right price and the restaurant patio deck for the post mortem was very pretty with a view of 18 green over a pond.

Great layout and many tight holes but fairways were not very good. Some greens were ok and others in very bad shape.

I have not played Costa in more than 7 years. I found the course to be in much better condition than the last time I played it. I would evaluate the greens as 7 on a scale of 10. The GolfNow’s Hot Deal price was more than reasonable.

This course is so hard for no reason. Holes 1-5 have the be the hardest holes I’ve ever played with the layout. The tee box on hole 2 is next to the middle of the fairway of hole 1, and you have to tee off over hole 1’s fairway. So people at hole 1 have to wait for you to tee off, you’re crossing streams and it makes no sense. I’m a decent golfer and I lost about 10 balls on holes 1-5. So much water, not even sure how they got that much water there. Never have I lost more than 4 5 balls playing anywhere else. Would not recommend for the average golfer. Greens were nice though.
