Keep it in the fairway.
This a great course to play. Watched the Buckeye Clemson Game, played at 7:40 am. Had a bad ball striking day . But... Go Bucks!
Nice course but loud, polluting, inferior, gas carts are a disappointment
While Riverwood is a good looking course, it is very unfortunate that the course uses only noisy, polluting, smelly, gas golf carts for guest transportation around the course. Do golfers enjoy announcing their arrival at every tee and green as they approach with the loud, revving engines?
It is surprising an 'award-winning' course would not provide guests with first class, quiet, clean, electric carts. Apparently, ownership is not interested in creating a more upscale, comfortable, and acceptable means of transport for guest golfers. Following one of those gas golf carts is like following a garbage truck, while following an electric cart is like following a Tesla. Needless to say, your game and comfort are improved with electric carts.
Not only does the noise contribute to players having to listen to that racket all day, but the exhaust of these 75 gas carts can harm the local environment, especially that of the adjacent wildlife, river preserve. And if you are following one of these gas carts, you will be inhaling gas exhaust all day.
While you may enjoy playing the course, you will need to be prepared to use loud, inferior, gas golf carts all day. If all 75 gas carts are running, the revving noise is nearly constant throughout the course. It is similar to listening to a compressor running all day.
This is the only course in the area that uses loud, polluting, gas carts, so there are certainly other options if you want a quieter, more comfortable, and relaxing day at the golf course.
Scratch golfer review
The course was in great shape due to being over seeded a couple weeks ago. A little wet but that’s not gendering the overall condition of the course. The staff and member we played with were very nice. Played from the blacks which were about 7000 yards and ended up being a bit easy but still had challenging holes. Small/skinny greens makes for a ball strikers paradise. Greens rolled amazing and had some good pace. Overall loved the course and will be playing there again before we leave.
Trailboss
The course is real nice, played it many times over the years
Fairways are soggy, hitting drives in fairways and their sticking , no rollout! Greens unreasonably slick.
On in regulation many times and putts must be babied. For the average golfer it is too quick. I love the course and I'll play again.
Great Course
Course was in great shape even with the over seeding. Greens ran true and had good speed. I will be returning to play again soon!!
Fun, fun, fun!
Beautiful and uniquel layout. Some holes were very challenging but overall my husband and I enjoyed the day.
Course was in great shape, the carts were on the path however. Then we were paired with two new golfers which made for a slow round
Awesome beautiful golf
Everything was awesome except for the starter and cart guy was a little rude. Smiling would go a long way.
Thanks
A round with old buddies
Was asked to find a “nice” course for our round and I consider Riverwood the best “nice” course in the area for the money. Challenging, fair course and we all had a great round and game. For the other 3 it was their first time at Riverwood. Already planning a return trip.
One of the best
This course is one of the best in the area. Fairways and greens were perfect. Love the layout tough but fair. Good day.
