Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University

Challenging off tee to stay out of sand on most holes. Fun to play. Would definitely play again if in Raleigh area

The young lady working the bar needs to be taught how to handle customers. I approached the bar to order while she was looking at the door. I was the only one there. she turned away from me to look in the opposite direction at the order screen, stood there without turning around, then finally asked me "What do you want". never smiling or saying another word, she got it, rang it up and looked at me without saying a word. Finally I had to ask what did I owe. After she told me, without ever a smile, she said I could only pay with a credit card. I paid and nothing else was said.

It was a fun course although the front nine was closed. It would have been better to inform golfers when the full course was not available for play.

Also, our start time was delayed almost 40 minutes so the NC State Golf Team could tee off.

Need to better inform golfers of changes as tee times are booked.

This is my 1st time playing Lonnie Poole. Liked the course a lot. The layout is great. Nice balance of holes. Fairways were in good shape for this time of year, as were the bunkers. I was disappointed in the greens. A lot of unrepaired ball marks and other contusions. Disappointing that players are obviously not repairing divots but also, based on the number of ball marks, apparently the greens keepers can't keep up with the ball mark repairs. In any event, great track overall. Highly recommend playing.

The course is hard from tee to green. It is winter so expect the course to be a bit beat up. The surprise were the greens. Pocked up like a bad, wet muni. Expect more from the course and the players.

Fantastic layout with amazing bunkers & city views!!! Greens are very fast & only complaint is the numerous ball marks that many local trash golfers simply refuse to fix/ignore! The greens keeper & the crew have done such a phenomenal job- such a shame that visiting golfers can't take a few seconds to fix their marks- highly recommend a round at Lonnie- much better than some private tracks in the triangle- JP

It all started with a rude check in staff member who was extremely cold and seemed frustrated to be there.

Next, my wife and I were put in a pairing with a very young kid who took practice swings with divots… smh. To put the icing on the cake, the 6-some in front of us had two children under the age of 6 playing all 18. So we were able to play the front 9 in 4 hours.

Overall was shocked by how out of control it was out there.

Beautiful course…..super friendly staff. Arnold Palmer design so it was challenging. Would highly recommend plying this course if you get the chance.

Pace of play was horrible! Unless your looking to spend all day long on the course I would not recommend it.

LP is always a fun and challenging course. Was a great day to play - surprised how full it was for a Wednesday afternoon, but we still finished in 3.5 hours.

We really enjoyed the course layout, and the fairways were in very nice condition. The greens were also good, and a little tricky to read. The only issue we had was that we started on the 10th hole, then when we came around to the 1st hole they had sent a couple groups off in front of us, so we waited on every shot the second nine. The guys directly in front of us said "we just called an hour ago for a tee time, and they said come on down, we'll fit you in". They fit them in where there wasn't space, and it was frustrating for them and us.

First time playing this course and it was wonderful. Plenty of options off the tee box. Course was in great shape. Staff was incredibly friendly. Highly recommend.
