Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Enjoyed the course

I’ve played Bear Creek a few times now. Of the less expensive courses, it stands heads and shoulders above the others. The layout is fun and the greens are very good. Pace was slow at times with the influx of Covid golfers, but it’s like that at most places at this price point. I’ve been behind two groups that seemed to care more about drinking than golf. I usually just skip a few holes to get clear because golf is not their forte, but they are having fun.

The course has a few.wet areas from all of the rain and those areas do not seem to drain well. I will certainly return from time to time as it’s a great course to work on your game.

The employees are top tier people and each and everyone of them were as courteous as they could be. Simply good people.

Lack of practice range or practice bunkers

This is the only reason for not playing this course on a regular basis. I drive across three county to play this course.

A good time

If your looking for a good time out on the course without spending a lot of money for 18 holes this is the place. The staff is awesome. The guy that runs the place could not be more fun he has plenty of jokes and definitely kicked off our fun in the clubhouse. I would definitely take my friends back and have a day.

Good weather, good course & Good day

Great weather for golf. Course in good shape, especially the greens, fairways in winter season conditions, better to play with preferred lies. Holes #4 & #13 interesting & require club/shot selection. Got a good deal for a small group. Individuals in clubhouse are accommodating & emphasize pace of play. Just wish they had a driving range, do have a net to hit into.

Do recommend to give it a try
