About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Course was priced about right for a Saturday morning. Some greens were in bad shape while others were pretty decent. Affordable round. Good carts. Pace of play was bad until the foursome let us thru on number 10. After that it went quick.
Pretty good
Got a hot deal price was right good value. The best part of this course is usually the greens...not this time. Not sure what happened to them but bare spots and sand on many. Fairways ok. Bunkers need sand. For the price this is what you would expect.
Be careful
Booked on Golfnow and was supposed to pay $39.25 at the course. They charged $42.00 and tried to pair me with another person in a cart. I was under the impression that the cart fee is included.
Bear Creek 9/9
Management does an excellent job adhering to t-times and keeps rounds moving very well. Really like the course layout; fairways were in good condition and the greens were consistent. One of my favorite courses.
The worst
The course was in terrible condition. Grass clippings left all over the tee boxes and fairways. The fairways were partially cut high spots not cut. The sprinklers were on while we were driving to the green. Multiple water leaks around the course. This use to be a good place to play sure don’t know what happened.
Great course..... but could use improvement
I really liked the course but the signs are extremely faded and difficult to read. Hard to follow the course without good signage. Greens were really slow.
Front 9 was fairly easy but the back 9 was much more challenging. Back 9 requires you to 'thread the needle' between trees on several holes.
Lost a lot of balls in the thick grass in the rough.

Good course but too expensive when booking through a website. Best option is to call the course and book your tee time directly. The pro mentioned I spent way too much money booking online.
Excellent golf course for anybody
Excellent golf course for anybody... The owners make a real effort for everyone to enjoy their experience… It’s a family operation and the people who own it also work on it all the time… I have really enjoyed every trip to Bear Creek...Everybody in Atlanta area should put this course on your bucket list!
