About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Not worth the drive!
Course cost $28 on a week day. Tees poor, fairways below average and rough around the green was too high. Greens average.
Great Set Up
The fairways and greens were in good ⁰condition. Good challenge..
Great Day
Excellent day on the course. Got doubled up with a Father/Son combination and we all had a great day.
Crazy Slow Greens
The course is in good shape. The greens look good but they were the slowest I’ve ever played on. It’s worth the $30. A few funky holes as far as layout. I’ll be back but it’s never my top choice.
Had a lovely time with my mom
I took my mom out with me during the morning and we had a great time together. It was our first time playing Bear Creek and we will definitely be back.
My only suggestion is to improve some of the signage throughout the course. Some of it has weathered and could be potentially confusing when navigating between holes.
Overall, thanks for the great experience.
Slow greens
Bear Creek features the slowest greens I have seen in recent memory. The layout is fine with a few blind tee shots that make the first time around tricky. Oddly the hole locations don’t appear to be changed often- several holes were smaller due to the grass on the edge of the cup growing over the hole. Mowing was somewhat haphazard as well with noticeable misses on some greens.
Also was not thrilled with the one cart per twosome ... cause... pandemic.
Blind course
Lots of blind shots on this course. Niether scorecard or hole # marker has a display or image of the hole. Hazards everywhere, you literally have to drive your cart forward on most holes to see what's (hazards) ahead of you...plus the guy at the pro shop just isn't very pleasant.
Great Course
1st time playing Bear Creek but will be a regular. Great lay out, some areas could do for a grass cut...My 4some had a good challenge
