With an excellent location surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains to one side and overlooking Georgia's Great Lake on the other, Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course provides the perfect setting for a round of golf. The diverse, rolling landscape ranges from dense forest to open meadows to pristine beaches. Water has a strong presence throughout the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. Many of them play right along the lake's shoreline. At 6,580 yards, the course is not particularly long but it is still a formidable challenge for long hitters since it requires quite a few demanding carries over the water. One of the most memorable holes for this reason is the par-4 12th, which presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity if you dare to cut the corner.

Really nice!

First let me say Thank You to to the GM Gary. I played the course last April and was critical. Gary invited me back out and really enjoyed the day.

The conditions and staff friendless was also significantly improved. I went from saying I will never go back to looking forward to playing again.

Overall the view are excellent and the conditions good. There are a few weird holes, but most courses have those.

If I could give 4 1/2 Stars I would..

Fun Day!!

I have played this before for a scramble, but this was my first with some friends. The course was wet, and it was cart only, which makes it harder. That said, you can't control mother nature. The course is beautiful and very well laid out. I'm looking forward to going back on a day where the weather is more cooperative.

Always a great day

One of the best courses in Georgia with amazing views and a great layout. Greens are recovering from being aerated which will probably take a week or so to recover but rest of the course is in amazing shape. Growing the rough up which makes the course play that little extra difficulty. Just want to give a shout out to the staff, starters and Marshall’s, all were extremely friendly and professional. A great day on the course for sure.

A trip that’s worth it

The course is not on the beaten path and the greens were aerated past couple weeks. However, what a great golf experience!! The course is well worth the trip. I will definitely play again and bring friends! Great staff and pace of play!

Great experience

The staff give this place a proper resort feel. Customer service is excellent. Cool dinning area with complimentary hot dogs, chips, fountain drinks, ice cream cooler and more. Only thing you have to pay for is beer and Gatorade. The course layout is very unique. GPS unit on the cart is worthless beyond giving you a front, back and center number. Fairways and rough were excellent. The greens were way to slow for how nice everything looked. Like annoyingly slow.

Great course and experience

This is a must play course. Beautiful views, challenging layout and a lot of fun. The course is almost perfect right now. Fairways are in great shape and in another week greens will be fully recovered. Very happy I got to play here
