Lanier Islands Resort - Legacy Golf Course

Pace of play was good. Greens weren’t as fast as practice greens. Amenities are the best. Love playing here. Great views of the lake.

We only had 3 players play I tried to contact golf now and the course with plenty of notice the day before but no one was able to answer the phone

I showed up at the course 2 hours early to cancel 1 tee time but they said I had to contact golf now

Can someone please help me, that’s $70

One of the best courses in Georgia. Beautiful views and challenging course. If you are playing well you can score well if you don’t hit fairway in for a long day. 12,13,-14 one of the toughest stretches in any golf course. Will be back for sure and would highly recommend!!!

Took the boat over and staff picked us up from the dock super nice staff and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend .

Legacy is a gem! The staff and golf course are second to none! What a great experience. I will be back for sure.

Group Ahead of us made it for a long day but not the courses fault. Course is in great shape and staff was wonderful. Off course you are definitely taken care off too. We will be back soon

Let me start by saying that if you haven’t played here, it’s totally worth the money. I am getting married and I was planning a bachelor party up at Lake Lanier and I wanted to have a 12 man 3 day tournament at the course- I think it’s that great. Beautiful layout, well maintained and incredible scenery. The food, which is included in the price of your tee time, is pretty good.

Since the course is such a gem, you can count on waiting to hit shots on the weekend, which is an issue everywhere. My problem is that on a packed day, we were sent as a twosome, which is tough because the other two we were paired with did not show up. Then we were stuck behind 4 guys, who played from the back tees and took forever on every shot after searching for every ball they hit. There are 6 guys greeting people at the door and 1 ranger that didn’t say anything. There was a hole and a half free in front of us. So we went into the shop and explained. There were 4 people listening and a manager, I believe he was a Scottish gentleman, said not to worry that he would handle it on golf now. My fiancé called and she was informed that it is against legacy’s policy.

We were lied to. Simple as that. I’ll be back to play, but it was a pathetic display of leadership and respect. Do better for your beautiful course.

Couldn’t ask for a better course and amenities and it was a beautiful day and my friends said the same and we also like the 10th hole for a hole in one that you added made the round even better even though I didn’t come close one of my friends did but it rolled of the greens we will all be back soon

The views throughout are spectacular. There are multiple holes that could be deemed signature holes. The course was in immaculate shape and the staff was terrific.

Best golf course that I’ve played. The people are amazing! The course is challenging but beautiful. I will definitely be going back.

Their new policy where you can’t unload your golf bag by the carts but you have to carry your bag from your car (there is not bag stand to unload your bag near the pro shop) AND you have to wait until your tee-time in order to get the cart key is ridiculous. I have NEVER been to a course that treats the carts like they do. The starter managing the carts acted as the CIA inspector general and thought everyone was a criminal if they even asked for a cart key in order just to pull the cart up by the starter stand so that you do not have to walk all over the place in order to get ice, go to the range, etc. The new cart policy or lack of reasonable policy puts a sour taste in people’s mouths even before they get to go play one of the best and most picturesque golf courses in all of Georgia. It was 97 degrees and the course wants everyone to lug their bags around and walk all over the place just and will not permit you to have a cart key until the exact time for you to head to the first tee.

One of my favorite things about the course is that it is like an all inclusive resort. The greens fee you pay comes with: range balls, complementary sodas, hot dogs, snacks, bottled water and a great practice area. Each cart has a cooler and plenty of ice which makes for an great day on a great course. Too bad the cart policy is so ridiculous and the starter is such a dictator about giving out a cart key.

As far as the facilities and the golf course go, Legacy on Lanier is one of the best courses in all of Georgia. The conditions are fantastic. The course has some of the most beautiful views of Lake Lanier. Course layout is fantastic with a few very challenging holes. I highly recommend the course over any course in the area.
