Winter Park Golf Course
About
Dating back to 1900, Winter Park Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida. The course and clubhouse are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Despite being a nine-hole golf course, Winter Park Golf Course is not an ordinary pitch and putt. Known for its narrow, tree-lined fairways and postage stamp greens that are heavily guarded by bunkers, the golf course presents a formidable test to even the most skilled golfers. The golf course is ideal for golfers looking to sharpen their short game skills. Besides offering a challenging game, Winter Park Golf Course has extremely affordable rates that make it a great location for catching a quick round.

It’s a challenge
Great 9 hole challenge- pro shop staff are the best
Great walking 9
Greens looked great and I played on a day that it rained. No puddles , no mud!
Awesome
I would put my experience at Winter Park in my top golf outings ever. Beautiful course, fantastic conditions. Laid back atmosphere much like playing at The Cradle in Pinehurst. I will play every time I get a chance in the future.
Beautiful
Last course I played was Pinehurst #3. This was just as much fun overall. The course is so idyllic and the greens are amazing. Well bunkered and not a flat spot on them. Reminded me of Hershey CC West course which I played before Pinehurst #3. Not trying to be a pompous a- double scribble as my late mom would say but just wanting to compare where I played recently with this track and how the experience, though obviously different brought the same enjoyment. Cheers to you WP9, I sure hope to be back many times over...
Course conditions are slipping; sad to see
The winter park 9 became my favorite course to play this year during the lockdown. After a couple months away I was thrilled to be back. Unfortunately, like many courses in the area, it seems they can’t maintain what they’ve got. In the last 7 months conditions have gone from consistently very good to fair at best. Lack of friendliness from the staff has been standard in all but a couple visits and the good conditions on the course that made up for the lack of courtesy from the staff seem to have gone by the wayside. Aside from ragged tee boxes the greens are showing significant signs of wear. You would hope at a smaller facility the turf would be priority and they would get creative and maybe consider walk mowing their sloped greens but it seems they are content to wear everything out. Similarly approaches and areas around bunkers have been scalped and make for difficult chip shots if you don’t find the green. Glad I got in some cheap golf earlier in the year, won’t be back.
Believe the hype!!
You might be thinking that it’s crazy that a little 9 hole municipal course is one of the highest rated courses in Central Florida, but there’s a reason why.
This course is in perfect condition, the greens are perfect and true, and you can walk the whole thing in about 1 1/2 hours. It’s challenging yet fun for everyone.
Not to mention that it wraps through the prettiest neighborhood in Florida.
If you’re near, do yourself a favor and go play a few rounds.
Course was in excellent condition and greens were fast and challenging. Overall, a pleasant experience.
