Winter Park Golf Course
About
Dating back to 1900, Winter Park Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida. The course and clubhouse are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Despite being a nine-hole golf course, Winter Park Golf Course is not an ordinary pitch and putt. Known for its narrow, tree-lined fairways and postage stamp greens that are heavily guarded by bunkers, the golf course presents a formidable test to even the most skilled golfers. The golf course is ideal for golfers looking to sharpen their short game skills. Besides offering a challenging game, Winter Park Golf Course has extremely affordable rates that make it a great location for catching a quick round.

Had to leave, buddy got hurt
We were on the first tee getting ready to hit. My buddy reached into his bag and hurt is back. He teed off despite the pain. He didn't even get 50 yards from tee before he froze because of the pain. Consequently we turned around and left. We were told by the golf shop to request a refund because they could not issue it. How do we do that? I cannot find anywhere on the site to request it. Golfnow please advise.
Best muni in the state
Love playing WP9. The novice golfer will think that this is nothing but a short course and only nine holes, but true fans of the game and architecture know that this course is a great test for everyone. Beginners could putt around this place. Average players will sharpen their short game on the best green complexes in Orlando. Skilled players will score, but they too will be challenged by the greens. It's just a perfect place and wish more courses in area (i.e. Winter Pines, Ventura, Rio Pinar) would spend some money and hire guys like Keith Rhebb and Riley Johns to make their courses fun and challenging. Also, the maintenance staff at WP9 should hold seminars to other local staff to teach them how to properly cut and manage a course and greens.
Fun Track
This was fun experience. The course is a blast from the past. Easy to walk and the course is challenging but fair. Great for juniors and seniors. I recommend it.
short game workout
Course is always maintained well. You rely heavily on the approach shot and even more on chips and putting on these undulating greens. Reading the greens is very challenging too. Very entertaining course and fun to play.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course. There is a certain appeal about the course winding through a tasteful old are of greater Orlando (Winter Park is the area). It's easy to play two circuits of the 9 holes. I just booked two tee times. Electric water fountains are a nice feature in an area of the country where relatively many months have weather which are throat-parching. It's not very crowded, too. I played on a Saturday, and though the tee time for my 2nd lap of the 9 holes was 1.54pm, there was only a twosome at the 1.46pm tee time, so I joined them to get going earlier. I informed the pro shop of the opening at 1.46pm, I was given a quick go-ahead, and off I went.
Great Course - recovering from over-sanding
Love the WP9. Always in good shape tee to green. They sanded the greens earlier in the week, but aside from speed the greens rolled true. It is also the one course during COVID that consistently has a players assistant (NOT a ranger) out with a rake in his cart and keeping conditions in bunkers playable for everyone. Thank you for that.
Lovely
Always love playing here. Always in great shape and the staff is great.
Beautiful course
It is a very challenging par 9. The greens are tough; difficult pin placements but that is what makes the course so good. Best course for the money, setting.
local gem
just the right length to walk from the tips, greens are the course's defense....just need more divots filled, less gouging.
Winter Park 9
Fun course to play for all levels. I would definitely play this multiple times a week if I lived in the area!
good for exercise
Greens in rough shape, pouring sand down on them between my shots, pretty basic course, alot of traffic going by so if you hit long, have a slice or hook you could end up buying windshield. Told by staff not to pull pin out havent heard that. Was nice to be able to walk 9 but better bang for buck elsewhere.
Went to play today, showed up to the course and the greens were sandy as a beach and nothing on the website about the greens being punched. Please please please update your website and alerts if the greens are being punched.
great shape/poor pace
Course in in excellent shape...fixed a few ball marks that weren't mine, sorry to say. Pace of play awful .Waited on every tee starting at #4, A threesome, well aware of us behind them, couldn't walk any slower to their shots..glacial off the teeboxes. Such poor etiquette and lack of awareness was the only negative out there. Play this course!
