Winter Park Golf Course
About
Dating back to 1900, Winter Park Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida. The course and clubhouse are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Despite being a nine-hole golf course, Winter Park Golf Course is not an ordinary pitch and putt. Known for its narrow, tree-lined fairways and postage stamp greens that are heavily guarded by bunkers, the golf course presents a formidable test to even the most skilled golfers. The golf course is ideal for golfers looking to sharpen their short game skills. Besides offering a challenging game, Winter Park Golf Course has extremely affordable rates that make it a great location for catching a quick round.

Sweet for the price
If you can get a Hot deal or twilight time it’s awesome, I love this course it’s basically my home course, some greens aren’t in the best shape but you can’t beat it for the price
This is my home course and is truly a wonderful 9-hole layout. Course in excellent condition when a lot of central FL courses are soggy and rough during summer months. Course was playing firm and all turf is cut to fairway height.
Great course for any golfer!
I am a beginner golfer that went with much advanced golfers and at Winter Pine, I felt comfortable and not rushed. It was challenging enough for me and also for my friends that were advanced. It was a great walking course, very beautiful. It was the nicest 9 hole golf course I've ever been to.
Great Walking Course
I love this course! You can play in under 2 hours and everyone is super nice and courteous.
WP9 is a GEM
I'm a local in the Winter Park area and WP9 is always top of my list of courses to play. It takes less than 2 hours to play 9 holes, the course is easy to walk and it's always in great shape. Don't let the scorecard fool you. This course is challenging, especially around the greens. It's important to miss the greens in the right areas in order to get up and down for hopefully Par! If you're in the Orlando area and looking for a fun, challenging yet fair golf course, go check out WP9.
Great tract
Very fun course in great condition. Not a bad lie on the course! Greens are great. Short and very scoreable makes this a fun course.
Best 9 holer ever
It’s pretty amazing how good the course conditions are for a 9 hole course that costs $16. Greens were full and healthy but average speed. They could cut and roll them really quick if they wanted. I have thoroughly enjoyed every round I have played here
Awesome walking course
Unbelievable price and conditions. Love walking this course in under 2 hours
perfect at what it intends to be
the great film critic Roger Ebert once wrote that you should judge a film by what it intends to be.
by that criteria, Winter Park Golf Club fully succeeds at what it intends to be: a course that's playable for all skill levels off of the tee while still being challenging and interesting on the greens.
the reconstruction from a couple years ago was very well-done.
there's a warm and friendly environment here, probably brought along by the fact that nearly everyone walks, so it feels more social and old-fashioned, in a great way.
granted, tee shots aren't challenging here,. but the greens present enough interesting slopes that the better player will want to ensure that s/he hits his tee shot on the correct side of the fairway in order to have a good chance at birdie.
there's not much of a rough, per se, and the fairway isn't in immaculate conditions, nor does it try to be, nor does it particularly need to be. the greens are in spectacular condition, and they're large and offer a variety of hole locations for someone that intends to play here often. they're also often elevated, a rarity among 9-hole courses. and because they're elevated, a player that might see an easy hole off of the tee will be frustrated when his ball rolls over the back of the green and he has a difficult up and down for par.
the addition of some fairway bunkers (on one, perhaps), might make the holes a bit more interesting to look at off of the tee. a minor quibble, really. on the 6th hole, be sure to hit your drive down the left side, else you'll have a massive tree blocking your approach shot.
an excellent course to bring the kids to learn the game.
off the top of my head, I can't think of hardly any golf course that so seamlessly blends into a semi-urban setting. what other course offers the chance to take a 5-minute walk from the last hole to a street buzzing with great bars and restaurants? none that I can think of. In that way, the course is reminiscent of The Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland, the home of golf which seamlessly blends into the busy town that encircles it.
the plethora of 5-star reviews speak for themselves. there's no locker room, but there is a spacious private bathroom with a chair in case you need to change clothes.
golf could use more courses like this, courses that kids can ride their bike to, courses that are a 5-minute drive from hundreds of homeowners.
to fully enjoy this place, you have to have the right mindset. there's nothing wrong with getting the A+ treatment at a place like the Ritz Carlton, but you're not getting that here. You come to Winter Park for a casual round of golf.
Winter Park Golf Course is golf's version of playing sandlot baseball. And it's fantastic.
Quaint golf, exemplified
A round at Winter Park 9 is like eating a couple of the tastiest potato chips on earth - you won't want to stop at a single helping. Scaled down by necessity to a short length many tough-golf purists might scoff at, all it takes is a single loop for WP9 to get its hooks into you. The firm turf, plentiful short grass, intricate greens and rugged bunkering make for an experience where you'll forget how short the course is in the midst of all the fun you're having. It is a great example of a municipality maximizing every square yard of its golf assets.
Best Overall Place to Play in Orlando
Winter Park Golf Course is the perfect place to test your game, spend a few quality hours, meet amazingly smart people, get some exercise in and enjoy really good golf.
It's my favorite.
Nice course, great shape
This course is in great shape, from tees to greens, short course, crowned greens hard to hold a shot.
Overall nice course, with a history, put this on your list of places to play.
Well worth it
It’s a decent sized walking only par 9 that goes through the middle of a nice community. I happened to play a terrible 9, and was too busy to take advantage of the replay rate. Definitely coming back probably within a few days to play it again. Pro shop nice, staff friendly, course well maintained. Great deal
Pristine Course
This course is in pristine condition, it’s basically a nine hole walking course, rental pull carts are available. The greens are large, fast and just basically excellent. The fairways are large with no bare spots noted. There are 4 par 4s, 3 par 3s and 2 par 5s. The holes are basically straight and not too long. The only problem is sand traps. The staff was accommodating, knowledgeable and very friendly. I highly recommend this course will be back the next time I get a chance.
