Plumas Lake Golf & Country Club

About
Established in 1926, Plumas Lake Golf & Country Club has long been one of the Sacramento Valley's most treasured courses. First opened as a nine-hole layout, the course expanded to a full 18 holes in 1960. Mature oak trees line the lush fairways and small greens and there is also a canal that snakes through the entire property, coming into play on 12 holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers protecting the greens. You're in for a formidable test on this golf course but the rough is quite manageable and the layout isn't particularly long or hilly. Plumas Lake's 10th is one of the most memorable holes. This tough hole is a short par 5 that requires an accurate drive over a creek that crosses the fairway before you're faced with an elevated green.

Slow play
The course is in great condition. Too bad there were some real hackers out there playing in front of us. Book too close together and no marshaling. Waited on every hole. But for the money - it was a great day spent with my husband and son. Staff at the pro shop could have been friendlier but overall a good course
Contours of greens
While the greens were in excellent condition, their contours were often very penalizing!!! A good shot into the green landing pin high often found yourself 20-25 feet from the flag once reaching the green!!! Beautiful course but greens often don't reward the golfer with a fair putt... Incredibly frustrating!!!
Good staff
After playing front nine we hit a girls tournament / road block club house let us play front twice conditions were good staff friendly & helpful'
Awesome greens!
Great staff, helpful in responding to booking issue.
Tough but fair course
Tough but a fun course. Good condition considering the drought. Great staff. Excellent bargain.
Rookie Run
As an amateur, this course was perfect for my learning process. Many challenges and the greens were great. As soon as I get better I will go back and conquer the course.
More is Better
This was the 4th or 5th time we have now played at Plumas Lake, but the first time we were paired with a "local". He was able to point out some of the "local knowledge", which helped us enjoy each hole (and score better) a little more. The greens were in excellent shape and the fairways were surprisingly green as well. We'll be back!

Course is interesting and fun. No really easy holes, great greens, hidden hazards. Fun
Plumas Lake golf course
I like playing on this course, lots of trees nice and cool.
Horrible pace
The pace of play was horrible. Classic overbooking. The first tee was jam packed, and not one player on the back nine. We asked to go off the back. Was told no. Stuck us behind a 5some with 3 walking. After 5 holes there was a 2 hole break between them and the next group. We finally had to skip a hole and get in front of this snail group. We played the back nine faster than we did the first four holes following them. Very bad pro shop planning and distribution of players.
This course was challenging
This course had long fairways and good placement of sand traps small greens a little tricky to navigate course overall in good shape greensgreens worked well for putting overall had a great time
Good condition considering drought
We expected fairways to be hard from drought and restricted watering. Pleasantly surprised this was not the case. We played in the afternoon and it was hot, so pace of play was not an issue as afternoons are usually less busy. Nice serene rural setting.
We were forced to play through the sprinklers on the 18th hole. Unsure why they had no regard for the golfers yet to play through.
Where's the Tee Box.
Great value course and good condition for our drought situation. This was my 3rd time plaYing the course and still had to drive around awhile searching for a couple holes. Also, my gps did not puck up the 18th hole, it said 10 but that's not course related. I was not hurried, took my time and worked on my new swing. I will be back...
Plunas Lake
The course was in very good shape considering the water restrictions. Greens were a little bit fast for this time of day, 8:30 tee time. We played a relaxing round without being rushed. All facilities at this course are in excellent shape, great job!!
This course has wide fairways
First time playing this course. The fairways were wide and the greens were in excellent condition. First time overall experience was excellent, we're already planning another round and bringing along more golfers.
Challenging course
This course will challenge most golfers with its tree lined fairways, strategically placed canals, and undulating greens.
good times
round of golf was fun and fast good pace easy to get around
Great Valley course
Greens are great. A tough course if you make it that way! But need to do something about all the tree stumps.
Near Perfect Greens
Hats off to the greens keeper.
Smoothly rolling greens made for quite a few one-putts.
Great Glof
This course is always maintained well, it is challenging however still forgiving enough for a novice like me. I enjoy playing at Plumas Lake.
