About
Edgewater Golf Club has a peaceful setting tucked away in Lancaster. The course feels completely secluded with a layout that tumbles across rolling hills covered with a blanket of matures trees. The terrain is as scenic as it is challenging, providing the layout with dramatic elevation changes and plenty of water. In addition to the natural hazards, there are numerous strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. An abundance of wildlife also calls the golf course home, so don't be surprised if you see deer or turkeys roaming the course. One of Edgewater Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-4 seventh. This tricky hole is a downhill dogleg left that forces you to drive right-center of the fairway, followed by a tough approach to a green that sits on the bank above Fishing Lake Creek.

Snails pace
When we started the ranger said he would see us out there. We were a little concerned about pace when we saw the group ahead of us playing from the golf tees (6500 yards). They didn’t even qualify for the white tees. All levels of players have the right to play, I mean we aren’t pros but know your level. The ranger never came out, we waited every hole and on the final hole two groups merged. They were still on tee when we pulled up. So we had to wait for 8 hacks play 18. The round took 5 hours. That is unacceptable and put a bad taste in our mouth. We drove an hour to play, would love to play again but probably won’t die to the poor pace management.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
NICE!
It’s amazing how great the condition are at Edgewater. First off, the condition were phenomenal, especially the greens, considering how intolerant bentgrass can be in heat. Very smooth, not fast, but that’s to be expected w bent in the heat (can’t cut too short w SC heat). Fairways were perfect and generous. That being said, the landing areas can be quite small and if you don’t hit your spot in the fairway you’ll be re-teeing due to the firm run out. Edgewater is a really enjoyable course to play. I look foreword to playing it again!

It was a fun course to play. The staff was crazy nice and the layout of the course was great. The only downside was the greens were a little slow . But most greens are slow in July. Great day.

Pace of play
Second time playing. Nice course. One problem was that we( group of 3) were told to pick up our pace of play. Meanwhile there were 2 groups of twosomes behind us. We let one group play through. The starter said we were slow. So we basically played speed golf the last 9 holes. When we finished we ended up under a 4 hour round. Totally uncalled for. Two of us were here on vacation, wanted to have fun and not be rushed. If this is how you treat paying customers I do not recommend this course.

Beautiful Course
This is such a beautiful golf course and the staff is extremely friendly. Based on the price and the location, we didn’t know what to expect, but this is a fantastic value. The fairways are generously wide, but if you miss them, you’re in trouble. The layout was very unique and challenging and the conditions were excellent. We had a great round!

Good course, penalizes bad drives
The course was in very good shape and is a great value. It can play very tough if you're not driving the ball straight. Hole 17 is really a long par 4 as opposed to a par 5 but I won't complain about an easy birdie.

One of the best public courses in Charlotte area
Edgewater is probably the most underrated public course in the Charlotte area. Great layout with memorable holes scattered throughout and bentgrass greens that roll as you expect them to (not too fast or slow). It’s worth the drive folks and priced accordingly (relatively cheap).
Course in good shape. Some issue with area around green on #1, but everything else looked solid.

Slow play
Sent out as a twosome and the foursome never let us play through....they hit multiple shots ever hole and would putt two or three times each hole...finally saw the ranger when we were hitting our last shots on the 18th
