Backworth Golf Club

Not the longest course in the world but tricky in it's own ways, best greens I've seen for years, only beamish I can say beats them!

Tee boxes not cut, fairways like rough, bunkers full of pebbles. not worth the price or even half the price I paid (£17 per player). I was a member at this golf club for many years and left due to poor quality and the club mainly focusing on there weddings rather than golf course. Only reason for visit was a fathers day gift for the old man. Highly recommend you stay clear of this course as value for money is no existent get better value at Wallsend. (Can't believe I wrote that)

Angry staff treat us like criminals for playing slow. Unbelievably aggressive attitudes on the two old ladies

A surprising well cared for course that had excellent greens. After heavy morning rain the course obviously drains well. The fairways are wide and the various cuts allows for good lies to enhance your play. Overall a satisfying game without any frustration.

Was a bit disappointed when we got there for a 7.32 tee off time there was no staff or club house open to collect our score cards and since we had never done the course before ,we had to rely on club members to help us out

Lovely nine hole course separate greens for 1 and 10. Small narrow greens good challenge.

Good condition

Great weather and a course in good condition not to difficult for beginners.Members we’re happy to point out guides and yardage good fun on a good day with great company

Tees and fairways were all in good condition and the greens were very good with consistent pace. The layout is quite open and although a few par 4’s are quite short the small greens called for accurate approach shots.

The pace of play was good and the course was great value for money. Overall I would recommend playing here and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Nice course, great condition for time of year, probably due to use of fairway mats. Busy Saturday for March.

Course in very poor condition Temporary Tees and Greens the whole place looks a bit run down and needs a good overhaul.

Always excellent vfm, course in great nick and pace of play is good.
