Morning 9 holes at Backworth

Nice little course. Including a couple of good par threes and par 5. Greens in decent condition for time of year and fairways Were ok given time of year though fallen leaves make it tricky to find ball if on the edges in some parts

Great little course on a beautiful day!

The title says it all really. A lovely little course that was in very good condition. And we played on a beautiful day.

Not so good today

Playing in August you don’t expect to play winter greens! Nobody mentioned that it would be so when I booked the round

Terrible condition

Arrived to find out that every green was temporary - in the middle of summer! Tee boxes were either standard, or a marker in the middle of some long grass. All in all, the course isn’t in good condition. A real shame!

Not a bad course

Course isn’t 18 wholes but you can go around twice. Didn’t see any staff when playing. Wide course with a few challenging holes but relatively accessible for a new golfer.

Wasted potential

Good course in good condition. The soulless check and staff bring this down, no where designated to check in had to walk in the bar and a lady sitting down drinking got up to get me a scorecard, another man huffed and puffed as i asked if i was playing on my own or ask a group as golf now does not tell you this.

I always thought I was a problem throughout this, so unwelcoming. Reluctant to go back.

Good value but...

A good value, no nonsense course. Greens in good condition. Many of the fairways are designed with excessive rolling induction so that you are playing the ball well above or below your feet far too much of the round, even if you hit a great shot down the middle.

A good test for a beginner to get some real course experience.

Great nine hole with alternate tees

Wide fairways for the average golfer but some long four pars make a good challenge. Quite flat but undulations make it interesting. Greens in good nick, bunkers a bit flat in places. Based around the miners welfare and is a historic course surrounded by mew housing , a real oasis and very good value if you get a hot deal.

Good value golf

This is a good value for money course of nine holes which is played twice

Care needs to be taken be on the lookout for other golfers off thier own fairway

The worst aspect of this course are the bunkers

Not the kind of sand you want to play out of

Much better if they spend a bit more on fine bunker sand
