Course in excellent condition

Played in very windy conditions with my son and thoroughly enjoyed the course which was in superb condition with quick greens. A true test of golf but not overly demanding which will suit most levels of handicappers. Used the driving range beforehand and had drinks in the bar afterwards where the staff are friendly and welcoming. Good pace of play with our round lasting 3 hours 40 minutes. Always happy to play this course when we are staying in the area.

What a Friday afternoon treat

Not been here for over ten years, the semi rough then was unplayable. Great welcome from the lad in the bar/shop. Very friendly and informative. Course in great condition. Fairways and greens in great condition. Expected the course to be busy at 3pm on a sunny Friday. We saw 4 other players all afternoon. And great pies in the bar too. We are members of nearby Linden Hall but will definitely return

Staff in Pro Shop very welcoming and bar staff also very good prices for drinks more than reasonable

Course pretty good in general although greens on the slow side

Very disappointed with bunkers which were appalling no sand and had weeds and long grass growing in them, lacked maintenance

Pace of play good would return and recommend

Great test

On arrival my playing partner and I had a short practice on the practice green and I can’t say we were impressed thankfully the greens on the course weren’t as bad but were a little on the slow side and not as true as maybe they should be and unfortunately for burgham I marked the course down because of the greens other than that a great day out on a good test of golf course.

Road Trip

I have played this course a few times but only in late autumn/winter time. Always bowed to play it during the summer and was not disappointed. A friendly greeting on arrival followed by 18 holes in the glorious sunshine.

A great layout with some very testing holes. Course in good condition and really enjoyed the challenge.

Bar staff were friendly and efficient and we stayed for a couple of well kept beers.

Definitely come back again, a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Disgusting service from manager

In the past we have played this course regularly, course is lovely but becoming less and less well kept and more and more expensive.

However after our booking was cancelled by the course I was having difficulties arranging a refund. Called and spoke to the manager of the course who preceded to shout down the phone at me telling me we should not use golf now, that the course does not need the custom and was on the whole very abrupt, rude and unprofessional.

Sadly myself and my friends have spent a lot of money at the course over the years and I feel to be dealt with this way is an absolute disgrace.

Impressed

First time on the course and really enjoyed it. Good course to get your driver out, but watch out for the many well placed bunkers!

Greens although spiked, still played pretty well. Course layout and scenery very nice.

Friendly welcome and an enjoyable course

Having not played here before I was given a friendly welcome by staff and members upon arrival. Enjoyed hitting a few balls on the grass range before teeing off. The course is in fantastic condition, the fairways are wide and the rough is cut back which makes for lots of inviting tee shots. Most holes flanked by fairway bunkers around 200 yards of which I found plenty. Although the course is quite wide it plays fairly long which means a fair few hybrids (at least in my case) As the course is fairly flat and wide it does lack the charm and beauty of tighter tree lined parkland courses with none of the holes particularly sticking in my mind. Non the less a good day out and would recommend, especially for those who don’t like loosing balls in long rough or water hazards (as they are few and far between). Was on the slow side when I played behind a couple of groups comprised of the older membership however i don’t imagine that is always the case.
