Challenging, rewarding and photogenic
A tough course if your out of position, wide fairways give you plenty of room to play from the short stuff but if you hit a loose one you’ve probably lost it.
Can tell it has held some big events in the past with the layout.
Well worth the £20, we will be back!
Enjoyable experience.
Last played the course 2 or 3 years ago and enjoyed that day out. However the overall experience this time was brilliant. From the friendly greeting in the clubhouse to the excellent condition of the course it was a tremendous day out. Given how much rain there has been the fairways and greens were in great condition, bunkers were gur but that was understandable given the water in them. A lovely scenic course which although quite forgiving is a good test of any golfer. If we were closer would definitely play more frequently.
Very enjoyable yet challenging round
Played a round with my son on a glorious sunny day and found the course to be in a good condition although some greens were a bit on the slow side. Having played here once before 3 years ago, I was pleasantly surprised how well the course was maintained. I really like the layout with some long par fours and tricky par 3s with plenty of bunkering, set amidst some lovely scenic countryside. The pace of play was excellent despite several groups in front of us and we were round in 3.5 hours. Used the driving range and putting green which were good and enjoyed a lovely meal and drinks served by friendly staff with a view over the 18th green. Overall I thought it was excellent value for money and would definitely play here again next year when we revisit the area and highly recommend it to golfers of all standards.
Excellent course in tip top condition
Very well maintained course. Greens perfect. Staff very friendly. Nice clubhouse facilities. Great days golf
Burgham Park
A test of golf with a need to keep your drive in play as generally you have a long iron into greens. Surprisingly the par 5's are quite straightforward in comparison and with at best 2 of the par 4 holes which you go into the green with a wedge it creates a need to be strong as you play the track. An excellent par 4 in the 13th which is designed as a risk and reward off the yellows was my favourite hole firing a good 3 iron followed by a 50 degree wedge whereas you could drive the green as long as you have the 220yd carry. All in all a very good track, a real test off the whites if you play it over 7,000yds. I would heartedly recommend playing it.
challenging course, which played well considering the amount of rain in the area recently
Excellent course
Excellent course - a good variety of holes presenting various challenges. Fairways great condition as well as greens. Staff and members very friendly upon arrival and in bar. Highly recommended.
Lay out simply to follow for first timers
Great course. The day we played it had rained over night and this made playing off the fairway difficult. But the overall review was when in Northumberland again we will look this course out again.
Enjoyable but tough
The course was in good condition considering it's recent history. Fairways and greens being in very good condition.
The first cut and rough was to penal for my rubbish off the tee but I can hardly blame the course for that.
We'd definitely go back again as it was an enjoyable course
Perfect Golfing weather
Great to see Burgham Park fully open again. Still needs a little work in the Clubhouse, but the course is lovely to play. Challenging in places, but overall, one of the best courses in the North East.
Cracking course
Course played really well, decent sized fairways and outstanding greens given the current weather. Some well placed bunkers kept you on your toes. Shame no club house facilities as we understand it is in receivership. Hope it is still available to play the next time we are in the area.
Pleasing
Weather was not perfect so expected puddles and soft slow greens... how wrong we were. Playing a 3 Ball at midday, millionaires golf.. where was everyone? They all missed a treat i tell ya. Great breakfast and tasty coffee, great warm up area. Every hole was a picture to play, manicured and open fairways, pretty neat rough and the surprise was the greens... not a grumble from my party, ran true considering all the rain there has been recently.. True gem of a course to play... and its mid-October
Good test of golf in pretty setting
Enjoyed an excellent round at this lovely course which was kept in great condition, despite the very breezy conditions. Wide open fairways and little water hazards will suit most club golfers, although there are some good length and testing holes for the more accomplished golfer.
Friendly pro and bar staff as enjoyed a meal in the bar after.
Will definitely play again when I return to the area.
Really Nice course
Played midweek, teeing off at noon in September. Course very quiet. A fair course. Greens had just been hollow tinned but were still very playable. Course was well looked after. Bunkers in great shape and well raked. No water hazards to speak of. Clubhouse is very nice.
Burgham Park in August
Overall course in very good condition.
Greens were excellent.
Only fault but playable was quality of some bunkers which were wet and hard in places
