Nice little course, decent condition considering the weather recently! Some really tricky tee shots and small tucked away and well protected greens.
Course pro was really friendly and would recommend and play again
Course very very wet
This was my first time at Gatley. The course was extremely wet and bogey and is not far off being closed In my opinion. 2 of the holes were closed due to water logging ( since October)- this information would be helpful somewhere on the app when booking as it would let people make a better decision about booking. Not an enjoyable experience this time
Great course for high handicap
Great course was greeted by the manager gave me great advice about the course well recommend
Standard 9 hole
You're playing off the same tee for the back nine meaning you just get so stuck. We booked as a two ball and two others had been booked for the same tee time. We let them go, but ended up making a 4 ball with two others that were also waiting to do their back night. The space isn't big enough to fit a golf course into. With so much choice in the area, don't bother going here.
Good little course
The other reviews were a little off putting
There is nothing wrong with the course. It is in great condition and a good little layout apart from the 2nd tee, which makes the hole rather finicky
The round was made even better with my first ever hole in one on the third hole
I would definitely return for another round
Play whilst you can.
This is a small 9 hole course that has some different tee positions for the back 9. It was in good condition despite a bit of rain.
Greens and fairways were in good condition. Although the site is relatively small there is still some interesting holes. Nothing too long so good for someone new to the game.
Currently under offer from housing developer so play it whilst it’s still open.
Closed but playable
Booked online through golf now great price,
Driving there Google maps said closed.
On arriving club and shop closed but green keepers working lovely morning not too busy but sure that some are just coming and playing without paying , no one checked.
Greens had some bald patches but ran ok and Just off the fairways were quite long cuts. It’s a 9 hole course with separate tees for the second 9 , 5 on one side of the track and 4 on the other side , so easy to do 9, 14 or 18. Some cross each other. Great spot to view all the planes coming into Manchester, and lots of trains could be heard.
No facilities so take your own drinks and make sure you don’t need the loo!!
We were welcomed by a club member who was acting as starter. The course was challenging, the fairways were parched and brown due to the hot weather over the last 2 months. However, the greens were in excellent condition and that made the course a fair test.
The course was great value and I would definitely play it again.
Considering we played the course in early February, the course was in excellent condition. The course has very good drainage which meant the all the fairways and greens were firm and very playable.
An interesting course which was enjoyable to play. We look forward to playing it again in prime conditions in the summer.
Absolutely love this course.
The friendliest people I’ve ever met. Cannot do enough to help you and make your time there enjoyable. New groundstaff are working tirelessly to improve the course conditions which look as though they’ve been a little neglected in parts. They’re winning. The course is really interesting and is a proper test of your skills and judgment. Lots of water, plenty of dips, enough lumps to get you panting particularly on the last 3 holes. The 8th is my favourite hole around these parts. So impressed I ended up taking their taster membership. Great value. Pay £3 and play their Open Comp on a Friday. Great fun.
Good for 9 not for 18
This course is in need of some TLC, the front and back 9 are identical with no variation on the holes. This could be a nice little course but needs a bit of a redesign on some of the holes to add more variety. Some of the greens were also poor condition.
A picturesque course
The staff in the clubhouse were very friendly and a nice putting green to practice on before you start. The tees are not the best as they have some weeds on them, but overall they are fine. The fairways are in great condition with very good grass to play irons off. There is many trees on the course but don't interfere with play. The greens are in reasonable condition but some could do with being brushed to get leaves and seeds off them. The worst point of the course has to be the bunkers as they are as hard as concrete and lack the component of much sand. But overall I would recommend this course as one of the best 9 hole courses I have played at and is a good challenge.
I played here on Sunday what a gem, plenty to think about, great layout and most holes are interesting, loved it for my first time here, will definitely be coming back, staff very accommodating.
