GW great course

A very well maintained course, friendly, knowledgeable attentive colleagues with a great shop and half way house. The course is longer than I’m used to and slightly unforgiving with the tree line. But well worth a round

Below standard of course for peak time of the year

Previous member and regular at the course.

Greens had not been cut and were sanded (no prior warning) so they were extremely slow.

Limited amount of sand in bunkers.

Half way house price of a pint of moretti - £.6.80 which is shocking even for a hotel ran course.

Pace of play - poor. Not let through by a senior gentleman who was 2 spaces infront of me (joined with single infront of me who was also not let through by him).

Pro shop is poor compared to previous years.

Overall, a very hotel based golf course. Not for actual golfers. Looking for green fees more than anything and sources of income.

Great course

I was member here about 25 years ago and only been back a few times since then. The course layout has always been one of the best parkland courses in the region however the course itself wasn't always in the best condition. That's clearly changed as it was superb when we played yesterday, the greens were in outstanding condition. Lovely clubhouse and pro shop as well as a half way house after the 9th. Driving range also has trackman as well. Would definitely recommend playing it and would return.

Picked up this for an afternoon rate of £22 was turned into terrific value.

Course was in really good condition apart from one green on the back nine.

The layout is really good with each hole being its own challenge and no up and down layouts like so many.

Generous fairways for the most part but they certainly tighten up towards the end of the round.

Overall, really enjoyed my round

Our groups first time at this course. Was a great visit from start to finish. Friendly staff throughout, course in good condition and friendly players playing.

Would definitely recommend, we're looking forward to returning. Didn't use any parts apart from shop for a drink and the course.
