Unfriendly staff
We were a group of 4 playing the pace in front of us. We had a staff member approach us shouting saying we are playing to slow.
Group ahead of us was constantly 200y in front of us. We proceeded to let group behind play though as they were playing quicker. 3 of the 4 were new to the to golf and wanted to try a full 18.
In the club house we were not notified that the club had competitions on. Which was the reason they tried to hurry us around the course.
Overall the course wasn’t bad but that 1 member of staff ruin the round
When then ended up finishing 5 mins after the group ahead of us.
Decent course
First time playing here and it was a decent course. Greens were in excellent condition and quite fast. Very undulating fairways on most holes which is a little annoying going up and down every 2 yards! A lot of the par 4s are quite the same and just straight but all in all it’s a decent course in the town centre and definitely worth the £15 I paid.
Newcastle united golf club
Played on saturday 8th march course was in good condition for time of year but the greens were something else as good as anywhere you woukd play very true and quick. Well worth a visit highly recommend.
Played with my son whilst visiting him, as he's at Uni in Newcastle.
The course is long a good challenge to lower handicaps yet very fair to higher handicaps.
The humps and hollows on many fairways make it interesting.
Staff and clubhouse good.
Weather was dry but ground very wet from recent rain but not any problem.
Worth a visit if in area.
Good value for money
I paid £10.99 to ply which feels like good value for money, albeit there’s plenty improvements they could make. The scorecard doesn’t have yardage or par for any hole, just score index, which wasn’t helpful. There’s also no yardage signage along the side of the fairways so hard to know how far from pin unless you’re in middle of fairway. Staff friendly and course flows nicely.
Excellent for time of year
Course was in great condition with only 2 winter mats in play with all greens and fairways in great condition. Friendly staff as always
Nice course
Nice and challenging, lost a few points but heyho I will get them back hopefully 😉, I will definitely be back.
1st time
1st time ive played in 10 years course nice n wide keep me out of the rouge. I book again now i know the layout.
Worth the visit
NUFC have taken some pelters for their condition in the rough winter and spring we've had, so thought it's only fair I write a positive one!
Course looking great and the greens on the majority were absolutely brilliant.
For the price, I think in the dry and hot conditions this is a decent course!
Newcastle united like a links
It's a challenging 18 hole some holes are long for average golfer 4 long par fives and some long par fours and nice par 3. The rough has been cut right back so the fairways are easy to hit The greens are superb quite fast. It's like an inland links course. Hard but very enjoyable
Lovely Greens
We played the course after torrential rain overnight but course was in good condition. If you missed fairways and hit rough it was deep and even in first cut the ball sat down.
The greens were very good and faster than they looked. All in all we had an enjoyable experience and would go back again.
