The course from tee to green is in great condition. Greens were slow and long and were in need of repair, the amount of pitch marks not repaired is horrific.

Played here for the first time yesterday and we all really enjoyed it. Greens were a bit spongy and played slow but hit my handicap. Good fairways and we'll maintained. Course was strangely quiet and felt like we had the place to ourselves. Will definitely be back when in the area visiting family

1st time here

Great course and layout, but greens were a bit slow and woolly and tee box grass unusually long?? Maybe for a reason but unexpected

A long test

This is a long course with some really nice water holes, on an otherwise pretty straight forward layout. The distance from green to tee is long in places and probably adds at least another half a mile to the round. The water holes are great, including the tricky approaches to the 2nd and 13th and the winding stream along and across the 14th fairway which make these holes especially challenging - but the signature 11th is a brilliant all-or-nothing hole over water to the green 150 yards away. Tricky with a front pin as on the day we played. All the greens were in great condition, pretty fast and true. A good course and very much worth a round.

Good day out

We played Romanby because our own course was closed for a private event. We had a good day out in near perfect weather. The greens and fairways were quite a slower than we are used to. Some of the tee boxes needed upkeep and bunkers were not really in play. Nice drink afterwards on the terrace.

Delightful course

Romanby is a great course for a friendly round of golf. There is plenty of room on each hole, some challenging layouts but overall the course is very accessible. I have always found the course very good condition with sensibly light rough.

Nice driving range and putting green too. When they are open, the bar facilities are welcoming too.

Enjoyed playing this course

We played here for the first time during the covid 19 pandemic, score cards, pencils and hand sanitizer where At the first hole so need to go into the pro shop. The course was busy but the pace of play was good, no delays. I found this a good course for some one of my handicap 28 it had some challenging holes but not too many. I will definitely play this course again.

Romanby

What a fantastic course this is, this is my first visit to a different golf course other than my home course. All fairways and greens in amazing condition, and some tricky little holes but also not too challenging for a beginner or high handicapper. I, myself a high handicapper (playing off 28) had so much fun round today the rough isn’t massively punishable if you hit a wayward shot! I will definitely be back in the near future, regardless of the hour drive!
