Lovely Parkland Course

A lovely parkland course in North Yorkshire with excellent greens.

The staff are all very polite and helpful. lovely modern clubhouse with a wide selection of food and drink which also had sky sports.

Lovely course in beautiful countryside. Memorable layout with some fantastic holes. Unfortunately we were held up on every hole by a slow group. Otherwise excellent.

Difficult course with huge rewards

We played this as a three ball and it was a beautifully sunny day, dry and a slight breeze. The course is really welcoming and the staff in the pro shop are cheerful and welcoming.

We tee’d off behind a two ball who were very slow, my only gripe.

The course is relatively flat, lots of water, some tight fairways, but mainly open and forgiving.

The front 9 is well laid out and plays in a loop back towards the road and to the club house before you set out past the shop to the 10th. From here you play a lovely par 3 (11) and then head out into the countryside for a wilder back 9.

This course is a great mix, some holes favouring the big hitters, some favouring the more accurate hitters.

It’s a tough course, and a good walk but there are opportunities for birdies, traps for bogies, lots of sand and lots of water. It’s a gem. You won’t regret a trip out here.

My tip, play early to avoid the crowds and get back to the clubhouse for a lovely lunch.

Great days golfing

A long time since I have played here and a lot of work has gone into this Beautiful course in great condition considering the dry weather . Slow play for first 5 holes until allowed to play through, then perfect. Greens were immaculate.

Great value for money will be back again soon .

Excellent Day

Went out as a three ball, we really enjoyed our day. Course in very good condition, interestingly had preferred lies due to the conditions, the not because of soft ground, but hard ground. Staff very pleasant and good beer. What more do you need

Good course

Played here a few times in the past-always been a challenge. Today was the same in gusty winds but managed to shoot 5 shots better than my best as the greens were in great nick. Firm conditions helps the ball travel a bit further too, did find it quite difficult to put tee's in the ground!

Will be back ⛳️

The best greens ever

I was looking for an early morning round and came across Romanby Golf and country club, I was unsure what to expect as none of the reviews had left a description on here but took took a chance on just the star rating. I was not disappointed! What a fantastic course, that is well set out with a variety of holes. The greens were something else! I have never played greens in such good condition, they were like an expensive carpet that rolled perfect. The fairways were in very good condition and the staff were very friendly and happy to help. The only thing I could say was that some of the tee boxes were a bit worn and bare, where the tee markers were set but it was early on a Monday morning and could possibly have been being moved after my round. If you are in the area or even looking for a round further a field you will be impressed with this course.

Disappointed by the greens which needed a cut and a roll. Its a place that you can always get on, gets very busy and offers good value. The setting, especially on the back nine is very special.

Could be so much better!
