Top top course
2nd time playing one of the best in the north east for me
Brilliant course
As before the course was fantastic the staff were very friendly especially the young lad behind bar who remembered us from our last visit busy and hot day but 5 stars from the Doncaster lads 👍👍
Slow play, poor greens
Very slow play and greens had just been hollow tined with seemingly no sand backfill.
Some interesting holes but not enough to go and play again
Great course for visitors.
Great course ,we’ll looked after ,great price and a sunny day to boot ,what more could you ask for ,maybe a buggy .
Sloooooooow!
We’ve enjoyed Romanby before. The front nine has a few nice holes- if unspectacular - the wedge to the second and the driveable par 4 7th about it really. The back is more interesting with some blind shots and elevation changes with a few holes requiring strategic placement.
However two things- one inevitable, one so frustratingly not so marred the morning: firstly the greens had been tined and the fairways in places had huge cuts. This is necessary part of golf course maintenance but probably wasn’t reflected in the green fee. The second was the ridiculously slow pace of a group a few in front. 4h30 for a round of casual golf is poor by anyone’s standards. Romanby is not alone in this but…
Well worth a visit
Course in great condition. Each hole offering a different challenge/shot selection.
Great Course
Highly recommend playing here, lovely course in a great place. Nicest course I've played in a long time.
Good course
Greens in very good condition. Fairways not so much. Bunker sand a little firm. Staff in pro shop and bar friendly and pleasant. Green fees average.
Romanby Day Out
It was a great day for me and my two golfing friends. Had a drink and sandwich before play. Could have gone out earlier but never. Found the course in very good condition with a couple of surprise hole. Excellent day out. Definitely going again

Romanby golf course is absolutely stunning the water holes oh my god like playing in America brilliant course fairways and greens amazing lovely people and staff pro was very friendly 10/10
Bad manners
The course was in lovely condition, and set out very well. The main issue I have for this review is that the grounds person trimming the grass on the ride on mower, constantly interrupted me on 6 different holes. Rarely stopping to allow me to play and most of the time ignoring me and driving the mower in front of me. He made no attempt allow me to play and did not engage with me.
His constant harassment spoilt my experience and game. He would do well to use manners in future and allow paying customers to play without harassing them.
Good course
Good course and very friendly staff, groundskeepers are very pleasant and nice to chat with and do a great job maintaining the course
Slow pace
To many people on course held up every hole so only done 9 holes
