Romanby Golf & Country Club

First time back in a while but always a good test of golf. Course in general was very good, our group found the greens a bit slow. Very lush and green, almost carpet like but slower than expected. The cold pint afterwards was very welcoming and appreciated on a hot day. Still easily recommended.

I’ve played this course a few times now, it’s got better every time I’ve played the course. I would recommend it to anyone of any level. Some challenging holes but I really enjoyed playing there.

Romanby has some great holes but due to weather is in poor condition. It seems that they are charging their normal May prices for a February style course. Course we normally enjoy visiting a few times a year but won’t be rushing back till course improves a lot.

Played this course a few times, today though unfortunately I came off after 9 holes. The 2 people in front of me (a single player) were taking an absolute age, after an hour to do the first 3 holes I sat in the tee box for 15 minutes as no one behind, thought I'd give them chance to get down. Got to the tee box on 5 and they were just down the fairway making me wait again, each hole I was getting cold again and having to stretch out as though I was on the first. It wasn't until the 9th 2 hours in that they asked if I wanted to play through. I refused as I'd had enough and just left after that hole.

Very slow play. 1 hour for first 3 holes. Had to walk off after 12.

Rough and fairway in places ridiculous. Looks like it had just been cut after months being left. Clumps of cut grass lying all over the place making it near impossible to find balls.

Course layout very nice with special mention to the 11th.

Just wish the condition was vastly better in areas.

Average layout and decent condition, typical members club. Enjoyable enough but wouldn't rush back. Friendly green staff on the course. Sounds like they really focus on weddings

A good valued course, not easy to play ,long holes on the back nine ,definitely harder than the front nine,buggy recommended.in very good condition.

A 3 ball in front of us caused such a bottle neck on the course. Made getting any real rhythm difficult. Course looked a bit tired too which might be expected going into winter.

Welcoming venue and staff amazing all round especially for the price. Forgiving rough to find your ball but thick tree line so still punishing. Only improvement it needs to take it over the edge is the greens to be rolled so the ball rolls true but still good as is.

Picturesque, plenty of interesting and challenging holes and greens in excellent condition.

Couldn't praise this course enough really good well kept and look forward to goin back to play here again
