Rothbury Golf Club

First time we played here .on arrival we were very well greeted and shown the course from the decking area and explained where holes were.the course is a lovely course undulating and well maintained. Very friendly people who play this course and nice clubhouse for after your round.we are returning next week

Only two problems with the day out at rothbury the first was the weather not the fault of the club and the second was after our round we was looking for a bite to eat but the caterer was closed after 230 pm

The course itself was great and I had no problems the fairways and the greens both well maintained some of the second cut was a little long but stay out of it and enjoy a great little course I will be back this summer

Age 37 - 15 HCP

I was first tee time off at 8.20am but the greens were literally being aerated as I warmed up so putting was a nightmare the entire round.

Despite the poor weather the layout and overall condition of the course was a good and the test a fair one.

Knowing the drop off spots playing for the first time on a hilly course means scoring would be much easier second time around but not knowing in advance meant losing balls from reasonable shots.

The main reason for 3 star review is the greens ruined what could have been a really nice course.

Will perhaps come back late summer when greens in better condition.

Would certainly recommend. Nice welcome, friendly staff and course was very enjoyable. Some tricky Par 3s.

It was a great course to play, nice kept greens and fairways.

Could have picked a day when the wind was a lot less, but will be going back for another round.

Enjoyable round of golf . Course in good condition considering all the rain recently.

A round of 2 halves,, 1st nine had a bail out for indifferent sots but the back nine you have to plot your way round plus all depending on wind conditions

Always look forward to playing at Rothbury & never disappointed..

A very friendly club in beautiful surroundings

A tidy course with a very nice club house. Friendly staff, green keepers and members. First half works it’s way up the hill. Not too difficult a climb as meanders up and across as you play the holes. Last half down the bottom is flat and down by the river which was nice. Good pint afterwards in club house.

First nine up and across hill. Nicely set out so not too taxing Last nine down bottom by river. Holes a good mix of pars. Well kept course. Views fantastic. Club house clean and tidy and nice cold pint afterwards sat outside on patio area. Worth a play.

Lovely course, very friendly members invited me to join them for a game. Sadly no club ball markers on sale- which I would have bought

Due to the seniors comp in front we followed the worst 4 ball , they said the will let us play through if they had the chance which was virtually every hole as they were losing balls nearly every hole ? Never did ?? Such a shame as slow play on this lovely course will not encourage guests to return .

Enjoyed a round today with my two friends. Nice course with some challenging holes and nice scenery.

Staff very friendly and helpful as was a first time round. Decent value for money.

Lively quiet course. Back 9 better than the first 9. I really good condition apart from the greens. They really need attention to take this course to the next level
