Rothbury Golf Club

We enjoyed playing this course, was in excellent condition. Small greens though and a few blind shots. Bit hilly but fine for walking.

Staff in clubhouse were great and given a few tips about the course. They were fully compliant with a Covid restrictions, with social distancing being adhered to.

All in all a nice place to play and when we return, will know the course better, especially 10th, where you need to aim for the yellow marker behind the green.

This course is what I can best describe as Covid friendly. Has a one way system in the clubhouse, very friendly helpful staff.

Two lovely ladies playing behind us were brilliant they pointed out the device fitted to the flag to stop you having to touch it to remove the ball after putting. Great idea to reduce contact.

Everyone we met there were friendly and helpful.

Would 100% go back.

We didn’t have time but I was told the homemade cheese scones there are incredible, must admit the food did smell very good.

This was my first time playing Rothbury and I have to say it was superb!

The course layout really made us have to think about where to place our shots and the greens were very tricky, which made myself and 2 other players having to concentrate a bit more than expected!

We loved it that much were booked in again for next week!

The staff were also very welcoming and friendly!

We3ather was very poor at original tee time so called the club and asked if we could move it too later in the day which they did.

Both players are novices and scored 94 and 99 views are spectacular and staff were fantastic.

Difficult to form an opinion on such a wet day.

The small tricky greens, most of which were designed like upturned saucers were fairly quick despite the incessant rain, and bunkers all maker GUR on the day of our visit.

The quirky course was generally neat and tidy.

Buggy battery started to die on the 15th, called clubhouse and a fresh buggy was brought down straight away. Excellent friendly service.

A nice course in good condition with good views of the village and simonside hills. Not All of the clubhouse bar facilities were available due to COVID 19

1st time playing Rothbury but it won't be the last. Stunning course in a stunning place. Played most courses in the north east and this is up there. Played the course after 3 days of solid rain but it was still very playable. Greens were slow to be expected and the fairways were slightly long too, but can't complain following the recent weather. Was in better condition than i expected. It's a tricky course with small greens which i like. Every hole is a different test and there are a couple of driveable par 4s. The members that we bumped in to around the course were all very welcoming too. Top marks from me, hope to be back soon!!

Great course, first 9 very technical due to hills but very enjoyable. Back 9 mostly long and straight great for big drives. Well maintained all over, some fantastic views. Will definitely be returning.

Good course very well maintained would have gave 5 stars but the greens are very slow

Bit disappointed that we paid £22 and there were no flags...raised cups weren’t much of a surprise but not having a flag to see if a bit of a pain

First 9 holes are rather hilly, while the 9 last are quite flat and easy walking.

When we played we almost had the course to ourselves.

Had a great round here. Fairways were in super condition. Greens are small but the aprons are kept very short which helps.

Nice selection of holes, the first 9 are over rolling country side and the inward 9 are pretty flat.

Both the 1st and 9th tees are close to the club house so it's super easy to play both if you just want a short game.

If this club was a little closer to home I would become a member.

Played as a two ball Sunday afternoon. Very quiet on course but Sunday lunch trade very busy and looked good value. Staff welcoming and members all spoke. Course two distinct nines. Front nine quite hilly and lots of uneven stances on fairways. Back nine plays around river flood plain and is very flat and easier scoring nine. Tees in ok condition but no divot mix boxes so lots of unrepaired divots. Green were ok but quite slow. Really liked the shaped approaches and aprons to the greens . Would definitely recommend if in the area. Stunning views all around and view from clubhouse terrace must be one of the best you can get.

Great location. Well kept course. Friendly staff.some challenging holes. Nice pint real ale to finish. Even the weather was peŕfect. Whats not to like?

Lovely coarse if you're experienced player First half very very hilly, second half slightly flatter. Amazing views
