Drained well
Lovely views
Course was dry considering a lot of rain
Friendly staff
Bargain for £15
Excellent course, spread out well! One of the best I've played at so far
Great fun
Played today in wet n windy conditions but had a good laugh, excellent welcome from the pro and some helpful tips, definitely returning for another game soon , thank you
Great course and views
The course itself is a lovely tree lined setup with the views over Saddleworth, can be challenging walking so be prepared for that.
But otherwise a delightful golfing experience and incredible value for money. Highly recommend!
Twice in one week!
I played this course on Monday and Wednesday.
First Impressions were excellent. The pro in the shop, sorry never got her name, was lovely.
Really explained the course, what she expected from the visitors. Just took her time and made you feel welcome.
The course it’s self is lovely. Both days I played the day before was torrential rain. Didn’t see one puddle. The course is on the side of a hill but drainage was superb.
The strange part was the greens were very soft. The ball would stop dead to where it landed. When you walked on the greens you expected them to be slow. They weren’t. The roll was fantastic. The greens are some of the toughest I’ve played in a long time. The breaks look little but often aren’t. If you decide to play this course and see a two inch break. Play for 4 inches.
The fairways and tee blocks were immaculate.
The course isn’t hilly compared to some. But it is up and down and a few parts take there toll. To be on a hill it’s layout is fantastic.
The members are lovely and welcoming. Especially if you treat the club with respect.
Anyone who hasn’t played it before should. It’s a challenge. Strange that the first time I played a shot 74 but 75 on the return. Thinking that knowing what to expect would help, didn’t.
Thanks Saddleworth, throughly enjoyed.
Hot on the hills!
The tee time was 13;50 so expected it to be a warm start but the temp never dropped all afternoon. The greens had recently been hollow toned and sanded so the pace was a little inconsistent but the views were an excellent distraction. The fairways were reasonably wide and although many were on a slope there was usually a shot to the green. Enjoyed the day and would like to play again. Staff very friendly and more than helpful.
GREAT COURSE WITH FABULOUS VIEWS
What a lovely course. We were grateful to play in ideal conditions. Not too hot and no wind. There is a great variety to the holes and it certainly rewards good straight play. The fairways were a little wider than we anticipated and there were a few blind holes. We were lucky to keep getting advice from members when we occasionally had to wait at tees.
The course was well maintained and the greens whilst being worked on were in good condition. Some stunning views as it is a bit hilly in places.
One thing for sure is that we will definitely go back for another round
Can’t wait to get back in the saddle ..... worth
From start to finish a great experience , the pro in the shop took her time to go over the course layout with me .
The quality of the greens are second to none . The green speed is the same on every hole .
The course layout and surroundings are to behold ,amazing views .
Get yourself up to Saddleworth ,well worth it .
Saddleworth
18 temperorary greens and no knowledge till we arrived, what a shame as the course is excellent
Quality course and gorgeous views
First time at Saddleworth Golf Club and I will be back. In spite of the time of year (January) the course was in great condition with little dampness - even for us high handicappers playing in and out of the rough. The lady in the Pro shop (sorry didn’t get name) was brilliant and chatty and gave a really warm welcome. The course is full of great views, some ups and downs but, overall, a fair challenge. We both really enjoyed our January afternoon on “the dark side” - well, we are from Yorkshire!!!
Great course
Great course with beautiful views and some cracking par 3's
