Whalley Golf Club

Course was in good condition for time of year , they need to go round with the leaf blower and get rid of leaves in fairways because you end up losing good shots. Pace of play today was shockingly slow, was waiting 15-20 min to hit every single shot and no one was for letting me through even though I was on my own . Frustfrating to say the least! It usually takes me between an hour and 1.5 hours to do 9. I was still on the 2nd hole after an hour

I've been a number of times to this club/course and travel from burnley but this time around the course was full of green keepers who were constantly in the fairways on the holes we were on and was almost like they were staying away from the members who were playing but there were very off putting and several times we had to wait a couple of minutes between shots for them to move ,, I had a boss from work who organises the golf days from work and it just ruined it and I doubt I'll return to be honest , never had a problem before but when you pay £20 a round you want it to go smooth ,, bar staff and club house staff were brilliant though

Arrived at the course and the pro shop was closed which is strange as it was before lunch .

Admittedly it was Sunday but weather was good. Went to the bar and the staff were very helpful and explained where to go and what to do.

The course was in great condition on the fairways and the greens were the same and fast .

Its 9 holes with wide fairways, so played it twice as 18 and the tee beds were set it different places for back 9.

It gave us the course knowledge when we played back 9

Overall it was a good experience and would play there again.

Great and very well presented course did observe more than 3 ground staff going around the holes.

Trimming and cutting the fairways and greens and as I said it was running well in damp conditions.

A dry period would make it a true test we also had a sandwich and drink at the end of the game which was also very good and great bar staff very attentive.

Played Whalley for the first time and it’s a really nice course - hilly in places but what else do expect in the Ribble Valley!!!

Played with 3 other lads who also booked on Golf Now; so was a good experience.

Club house (19th hole) served Madri so was happy! Club shop well stocked and took a few memorabilia.

Tee time was right behind a 4 ball playing competition golf, pace of play was drastically slow and they refused to let me play through. Walked off after 4 holes as the group in front of them was also a 4 ball playing well off the pace.

There was a 2 ball behind me so they weren’t just holding me up and in turn I held up the 2 ball so it was pretty embarrassing

Called the clubhouse to see if they could send someone out to speak to them about the pace but no answer

Wouldn’t recommended booking here, club staff non existent.

Tough course walking wise but great facilities and welcome
