Golfer Reviews
Love this little gem!
I love this little course. Can't say enough about the scenery and the wildlife. The greens are fun and always in good shape (although this time certain greens had a bit of fungus trouble, but pin placements were out of those areas). If you're a fairly long driver, no need to pull it out, and then it becomes something of a shot shaper's game. The nature out here is just wonderful. Had gorgeous weather, which added to it all. Highly recommend to those who appreciate natural layouts w/ history........over manufactured (incl. long and/or gimmicky) resort courses.
Scenic, fun, great layout
Great, historic feeling course deep in a canyon with lots of interesting challenges. Deer, wild turkeys, no houses anywhere, and a creek that runs the entire length of the front nine make this a nature lovers favorite. Very walkable. A course that deserves to be in your regular rotation. Excellent low rates too.
Good play
Perfect course for beginner-intermediate players, with flat open layout. Well kept, trim roughs, and wild life all around, is beautiful.
beautiful with lots of wildlife
tight fairways, creek hazards. flat, water problems in some fairways due to breaks in pipes. Keep the ball in play and you can score well. Lots of great wild life. Bad cell reception.
Course in great shape
Now that the new management has been in place for a while, the course is showing improvement. The greens were in excellent condition.
They could use some gravel on the cart paths to smooth out some of the bumps and divots, but not a big deal.
golfer
I love it, I will bring friends to try this again.
This course needs more attention
The course layout is very good. A lot of hazards; tight fairways on some holes. What the course needs is to have the rough cut lower; cut grass should be blown off greens and fairways.
This course needs some sort improvement
The golf cart started run out the juice on my #14 hole. and the some ball cleaning boxes were dry or missing.
Value
It has been twenty years since I played here. Teed off on a Monday so not many players which was great.
I forgot how pretty it was here. Perfect course to walk for me.
It was a terrific value.
Jacks Review
I love this coarse, it is beautiful and has enough hazards in play to make it challenging enough to keep me coming back, it needs some repair work on the cart paths but otherwise the fairways are pretty good.
Great course
Like this course a lot I go at least once a week it's nice all the way around even the food. It does get busy on the weekends so I tend to go on the weekdays. So far so good and I'm pretty sure it'll get better with new ownership
Lots of improvement
Have not been to Redwood Canyon for some time as the course was going down hill under the prior ownership. New owners are working hard to improve the course and are making real progress. Still has a way to go but a great value for the money.
Fun / pretty / short course
Not a major golf challenge, but a fun and pretty course. A nice walk with a little golf thrown in. The holes are short. If you are on your game and hitting straight, you can play a lot of wedges to greens. Course is in sort of not great shape right now. A lot of very thin grass (meaning dirt/clay/mud patches showing through - probably they have had to cut back on watering) all over the course and the greens are kind of bumpy, which I think is normal. But it is a pleasant place to be and it's cheap, and some of the holes are very pretty and even interesting, so you just accept it for what it is.
Has potential.
Hadn't played there since it was Willow Park. Kid in the pro shop was very abrupt and discourteous. Seemed like he didn't want to be there. Fairways were pretty shoddy; needed to bump the ball out of the hardpan. Greens were a little bumpy and could have been rolled. Some of them were still unfair; severely crowned and the pin placements made it even more difficult, with the ball rolling off after a putt. A lot of the sand traps could have used some more sand. Sometimes hitting off clay. ( I know, shouldn't have been there in the first place ). While waiting for the group in front of us on the 10th tee, witnessed a flier from the 18th fairway hit the golfer on the tee box in the face. Could use some more screens to prevent that.
Management of pro shop
Booked a tee time at 07:22 am though golfnow and arrived at 07:00 am . The pro shop was closed until 08:00 am. Wasted our time.
Greens were plugged and sanded
Greens were plugged . would have liked to have been informed before I booked the tee time
