Golfer Reviews
You get what you pay for
A bit rough. Greens choppy, "sand traps" are more concrete and weeds than sand. Holes ending in the same place, too many people on course, over looked, waiting for 2-3 groups per hole to tee off. Very slow pace of play.
Greens limit course greatly
overall, an excellent municipal course. Offers challenges and demands different shot shapes and some precision off the tee, particularly on early holes. The greens are extremely variable and some are extremely fast and some are the opposite. This makes for a frustrating experience, as there is also no putting practice area. It can take almost the entire round to start getting a feel for the pace of the greens.
The pace here is very slow if you get off past about 9 AM. It is excellent if you go out earlier than 8.
$35 - probably not worth it
We had a tee time at 11:30 AM. They did not have enough carts so we did not tee off until 12:30 PM. There were about 4-5 groups waiting for carts when we finally got ours. The group in front of us went out about 20ish minutes before us, since we were all waiting on carts. We thought we would be clear for a bit and not have to wait, but as soon as we got carts and got to the first tee box, 2 groups of walkers just were put in front of us. So we had to wait an extra hour for carts, just for two groups, whose tee time was after ours, to go first. There were bottle neck par 3’s on the course with 4-5 groups waiting at the tee box. The course is not in bad shape, but poor management will ruin this course quickly. It was only $35 but it is still not worth a 6 hour round.
Do not waste your time
Not only is the course ridiculously fast and in poor shape. There is always a 30 minutes cart wait and almost never tee off on time. And the greens are gimmicky and dead
Rain Check
The course has improved, and the day was perfect up until the rain came as we were making the turn.
Not Worth the Money
Hands hurt by the end of the round from taking divots into hard, packed dirt. Greens were run down and tee boxes were uneven. If you want to play an Atlanta Municipal, you’re way better off playing Browns Mill or Chastain Park.
Best value for the money in the city of Atlanta
A good quality course, at a price that is nearly half of what an equivalent level private course would cost. It also has a variety of hole layouts that require you to use all the various shot types needed to really improve your game. What’s not to like?
Cheap but still a loss
I booked my first round here on the 4th and usually I don't play Atlanta courses because they suck, bad. However, this course was cheap at $18.00, so I thought I'd give it a chance. Right in the door the parking lot is so tiny it's almost impossible to get a pickup truck in there. The clubhouse doesn't sell any food, the tee boxes are mostly dirt and dried out, the course marshals parked and chatting instead of regulating play (I had to skip 2 holes because I had been t here 2.5 hours and was only on hole 8). My cart stopped on me and would'nt go so I had to have it replaced. Ball bandits everywhere including the course marshals! He rode up and saw a ball next to the cart path asked if it was mine, picked it up and drove off. Smh. You won't find a ball anywhere, including your own. I'll never play here again.
