Cottonwood Golf Club - Ivanhoe Course

Great value, nothing fancy but a great value and fun time!

Starter was a little bit rude. Pace of play wasn’t enforced.

Tee box was fair. Greens need some maintenance to them because the ball roll didn't roll very smooth, it was hopping mist of the time after the putt. The fairways could use some maintenance because there are many balled spots. The driving range is non exciting.

This is an obviously somewhat neglected legacy course in San Diego. Just west of Sycuan's Singing Hills, it is a much more natural course. Manicured is not the word to describe this l as your, but it's now like playing in a tightly mowed tree covered pasture. Greens were surprisingly good. $30 with a cart? Definitely would do it again.

Course is better condition than ever. This was lost due to the slow 5-some in front of us which caused a 5 hour 10 minute round. Where are the Marshalls?

It's interesting playing neglected mid century courses like this and Carlton Oaks. There is only one course left, it's an interesting track. We only bogged down a bit from 9 thru 12.

Greens were in surprisingly good shape, though please fix your GD ball marks. Tee boxes were decent. Fairways were hard and trouble hitting 3w off the deck, but live and learn. There was some sand in the bunkers, too.

This course needs some work. First off, The staff here in both the pro-shop and restaurant/bar were terrific. They were very friendly and showed me where to go. The course is not in good shape at all minus the greens. It was very dry so I understand it’s expensive to water in So Cal but there really was no difference in fairways vs rough and there are dirt patches everywhere. Do not plan on going to driving range as it’s non-existent for the most part. It is a short iron range where it seems you are hitting into a dried-up riverbed.

Most of all is pace of play was horrendous. We teed off at 12:30 PM and at 5:05 still had 4 holes left. I decided to leave as I was at a point close to the clubhouse and the sun was setting. I paid $63 with a cart which was okay but had I paid more I would have been really disappointed.

I have been playing this course for around 50 years. The people there now are the best. Kevin always treats me like a valued customer and even a friend. And the young man Jacob is so respectful and courteous. They make coming to this course very enjoyable right from the start. I'm sure they are a reflection of the rest of the staff.
